Mother of Dr. F. C. Wren Dies in Minden, LA

Pioneer Resident of Webster Parish Is Buried Monday

Mrs. Ellen Carr Wren, 94, of Pine Grove Community, Webster Parish, died at a
Minden sanitarium Sunday, February 16.  She was the mother of Dr. F. C. Wren
of Winnfield.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Pine Grove Methodist Church
with interment in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Wren was born Nov. 30, 1849 in Chambers Co., Alabama.  With her family
she moved to Louisiana in 1849.  She married the late G. L. P. Wren, educator
and legislator.

They had eight children, four of whom survive.  They are P. L., M. D., and
Miss Ava Wren, all of Minden and Dr. F. C. Wren of Winnfield.  Surviving are
also 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
