DEATH CLAIMS JOHN WRIGHT THURSDAY, 5:20 Funeral Services Friday, 3 P.M. From Family Residence Johnny M. Wright, 54 years of age, died at his home here Thursday afternoon at 5:20 after an illness of a week's duration. Mr. Wright's health had been bad for several months and his condition became critical last week when he suffered a hemorrhage of the throat as he was returning home from his work. Funeral services will be held at the family home Friday, 3 p.m. with Dr. D. C. Land officiating. Interment will be in the Winnfield cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. E. Carter, Joe Terrill, Hugh Mercer, Bryant Sholars, Miley Walsworth, Everett Felix, Bill Waggoner and Judge Cas Moss. Mr. Wright was the son of Mrs. Alice Long Wright and the late J. D. Wright, prominent merchant and planter of this parish. He had served as deputy sheriff of Winn for years and at the time of his death was office deputy having charge of poll registrations. He was a member of Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 F. & A.M. Surviving, besides his mother, are three sisters and three brothers, Dr. Roy Wright of New Orleans, Jimmy Wright of Winnfield, and Bill Heard Wright of Baton Rouge; Mrs. N. C. Dalton of Winnfield, Mrs. D. W. Harrell of New Orleans and Mrs. E. B. Harrell of DeQuincy, La.
