Final Rites For J. C. Wright Held In Ferriday

Julian C. Wright, 58, a Farm Supervisor III in charge of the vegetable farm at
Louisiana State Penitentiary, suffered a fatal heart attack while at work
August 12, 1966 and died a short time later at the Angola hospital.

Wright, a native of Winnfield, started work at the prison in 1958.  During his
career he worked both at Angola and Camp M, St. Gabriel as a farm supervisor
and correctional officer.  He was a resident of Jonesville before coming to
Angola.

Wright is survived by his wife and five children.
