All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 24, 1960 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Fount Wright, 64, Succumbs; Buried Here March 19 Funeral services were held Saturday, March 19, for James Fountain Wright, 64, of Winnfield, who died Thursday, March 17, of double pneumonia at the Veterans Hospital, Little Rock, Ark. Mr. Wright was the son of Mrs. Olive Wright, who died two months ago at the age of 97. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Eula Ezell and Mrs. Annette W. Grigsby, of Winnfield, and Ms. Festus W. Keefe of Long Beach, Calif. The funeral rites were in the Southern Funeral Home chapel, with Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert W. Gage. Ann Sowers, accompanied by Bobby Maxey at the organ, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me". The casket was draped with an American Flag, dedicated after the funeral to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, of which Mr. Wright was a member. It will be displayed in his honor. Interment was in Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were veterans with whom Mr. Wright had been associated with during World War I. They were as follows: Louis Lane, Dalton Martin, Louis Jenkins, Jess Corley, T. B. Plunkett, Louis Sholars, John T. DeLoach; also A. B. Collier. Honorary pallbearers were Manton Wood, Houston Smith, Bill Holstead, Colvin "Cotton" Long, Robert Holland, Malory Jenkins, Albert Long.
