M. Mrs. Pinkie Ann Wright, age 61 years, wife of the late Wade Kelly Wright, passed away at her home here Tuesday morning, August 20, at 10:10 o'clock, following a serious illness. Although her death was not unexpected, it came as a shock to her many relatives and friends here and in other communities in the parish where she has spent the years of her life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. C. Land, pastor of the Baptist Church, and Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Baptist Church. The services were concluded at the grave where a large concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to pay a last tribute to the deceased. A wealth of beautiful floral offerings graced her last resting place in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Wright was born at Arcadia, La., and while still a child her parents moved to the Zion community. While there Mrs. Wright united with the Baptist Church and was a faithful member for many years when her connection with that church broken by moving to Winnfield. Her membership was moved to the local church where she has been a member the past 30 years. She was married in 1895 to Wade Kelly Wright. They had no children of their own but reared two boys, Clabe Terrill of Leesville, and Leonard Wright of Winnfield, both of whom survive their foster mother. Other immediate survivors are the mother of the deceased, Mrs. A. J. White; and four brothers, C. A. White, Selma; W. T. White, Winnfield,; W. F. White, Winnfield; and A. B. White, Greenville, S. C. Active pallbearers were Judge Wright, Winnfield; O. A. Long, Georgetown; Lyndal White, Selma; Ed Ray, Winnfield; Otto White, Greenville, S. C., and Frank Wright Grigsby, Winnfield.. Among the honorary pallbearers were the following: P. K. Abel, Walter Allen, Dr. S. C. Fittz, Bryant Sholars, Dr. J. F. Faith, Roy Wright, Bill Holstead, John Teddlie, J. T. Heflin, Mack Branch, J. R. Lanier, Matt Milam, S. J. Harper, Judge Cas Moss, J. E. Carter, A. L. Allen, J. G. Russell, Charles Walsworth, C. McGinty, B. L. Anderson, L. F. Morrison, Otho Long, J. M. Hyde, J. G. Pope, B. L. Horton, Cecil Rowe, Jack Ezell, John Carr, and W. E. Heard. A number of out of town relatives attended the funeral. Among them were Mrs. John O'Laughsin, Mrs. Bill Hastings, and W. L. McConathy and daughter, El Dorado; Mrs. Sue Davis, Mrs. O. B. Register, and Mrs. J. M. Head and son of Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. A. B. White and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. White and son of Greenville, S. C., S. N. Morris and family, Mr. and Will Long, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Long, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Long, Georgetown; J. G. Pope, Ed Gamble, and Frank Durham, Selma; and Mrs. L. A. Brister and son, Selma.
