W. Melton, 59, Succumbs; Rites Held Saturday Woodrow Wilson Melton, 59, of Winnfield, was dead on arrival at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 1971, at Winnfield General Hospital after an apparent heart attack. A Winn Parish native, he was an electrician, member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for the past 29 years, and of the Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Melton Tabernacle near here with the Rev. William L. Smith officiating. Burial was in Melton Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nella L. Melton of Winnfield; a son, Shelby Melton of Pima, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Francis May of Monticello, Ark.; his mother, Mrs. Iva Melton of Winnfield; a brother, William J. Melton of Beeville, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Harkins and Mrs. Maxine Hale, both of Winnfield; and four ??????? Pallbearers were Robert Howell, Basil Williams, Grady Lee McFarland, Barrett Warren, Johnny Jones, and Lynn Melton.
