Wyatt, Pioneer Citizen, Dead Geo. M. Wyatt, of Couley, La., age 73 years, 5 months, and 16 days, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Chandler, at St. Maurice, at 4 P. M. last Saturday, after an illness of several months. Mr. Wyatt was one of the pioneer citizens of Winn Parish, having lived at Couley for 40 years. He was a successful farmer and business man, was postmaster for 26 years at Couley post office. He leaves a large family and numerous relatives to mourn his death. He is survived by his wife and seven sons and daughters. The are Mack and Leon Wyatt, St. Maurice; Charles Wyatt, Shreveport; Mrs. Anna Chandler, Homer; Mrs. Nina Canterbury, Mansfield; and Gley Wyatt, Couley. Interment took place at the Couley Cemetery Sunday, Rev. Johns, Baptist minister of Natchitoches, conducting the service.
