Loom Wyatt, 70, of St. Maurice Succumbs Tuesday Morgan Looney "Loom" Wyatt, 70, St. Maurice farmer and mercantile man, died at his home about 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 1952. He had been ill about five weeks from the results of a heart attack. Mr. Wyatt was a former member of the Parish police jury from Ward Five, serving one term as president of the body during his term during the early 1930s. At the time of his death he was associated with Wyatt Brothers store at St. Maurice, and was engaged in the ginning business in St. Maurice and Montgomery. He also carried on extensive farming operations in Natchitoches Parish. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the St. Maurice Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev. W. E. Howell of Iowa, La., and Rev. Edwin Keesler of Montgomery, officiating. Masonic rites were conducted at the graveside, under directions of Montgomery Lodge No. 168. Mr. Wyatt, born in Ouachita Parish, was the son of the late G. M. and Ada Everett Wyatt of Couley. He lived in Winn Parish since childhood. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Inez Fletcher Wyatt; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Barberousse, one grandson, Douglas, all of St. Maurice; four brothers, G. M. , G. L., both of St. Maurice; C. F. of San Angelo, Texas; and W. P. of Homer; three sisters, Mrs. C. R. Little, Mrs. W. H. Chandler, of St. Maurice, and Mrs. C. L. Canterbury of Florien, La., and his stepmother, Mrs. George M. Wyatt, of St. Maurice.
