All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 18, 1937 Winn Parish Enterprise Mrs. Yelverton Dies Suddenly In Shreveport Funeral Services Held At Sikes On Monday Afternoon Mrs. Kate (Holly) Yelverton, about 50 years of age, died suddenly from a stomach trouble in a sanitarium in Shreveport Sunday, February 14th, where she had been taken for treatment a few days ago previous. Funeral services were conducted at the Sikes Baptist Church on Monday afternoon by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Winnfield Presbyterian Church. Interment was in the Sikes Cemetery. Mrs. Yelverton was born in Mississippi and was also married to Mr. W. A. Yelverton, now deceased, while residing in Mississippi. They moved to the Sikes community many years ago where they reared their family. Mr. Yelverton died several years ago. Mrs. Yelverton was a member of the Baptist Church. The deceased is survived by nine children, Henry Lee and Clyde of Winnfield; Hosea, Gappa, Martin, Mae Lizzie, Buford, Welcome, Willie, and Lee Earman, all of Sikes; her mother, two brothers and two sisters, Walter Holly, Willie Holly, Mrs. Ross Parker, and Mrs. Homer Brister, all of Sikes.
