Aged Resident of Sikes Dies Sunday, July 21

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Yelverton Is Buried Sunday

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Yelverton, 85 years of age, died at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. T. H. White, near Sikes, Sunday, after a long illness.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Sikes Church with the Rev. Alwin
Stokes, pastor Winnfield Presbyterian Church in charge.  Interment was in the
Sikes Cemetery.

Mrs. Yelverton came to this section from Alabama more than 35 years ago.  She
resided in Winnfield at one time with her daughter, Mrs. Laura Hatcher.  She
is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hatcher and Mrs. White of Sikes.

Her only son, W. A. Yelverton, preceded her in death a few months ago.

Mrs. Yelverton was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
