Miss Mary Young, Native of Winn, Dies January 5

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, January 6, 1953, at 2 p.m. in
the New Hope Methodist Church for Miss Mary Young, who died Monday, January 5,
1953, at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Lawrence, in the Hudson Community.

Rev. R. L. Daily officiated at the service.  Interment was in the New Hope
Cemetery.

The deceased had been ill for several months.  She was born in Winn Parish on
November 12, 1871 and was 81 yeas old.  She was the daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. John Young.  She had lived her entire life in Winn Parish and was a
member of the New Hope Methodist Church.  She is survived by two sisters, Mrs.
John Lawrence and Mrs. I. B. Payne, Sr., of Dodson, and one brother, Robert
Young of West Monroe, and 37 nieces and nephews.
