Burton Claimed By Death At Colfax Friends of Mrs. A. P. Burton sympathize with her in the loss of her father whose death occurred March 2 at the family residence in Colfax. Funeral services were held the following day and interment in the Colfax Cemetery with the Rev. T. D. Lipscomb, pastor of the Methodist Church, and the Rev. W. E. Pardue, conducting the services. Mr. Young had been in ill health for sometime and his death, while regretted by the people of Colfax and vicinity, was not unexpected. He had been a resident of Colfax for the past twenty-eight years and had acquired a host of friends in this section of the state. He was born in Winchester, Virginia and fought in the Indian wars. About 60 years ago he came to Louisiana, later moving to Colfax, where he raised quite a large family. Surviving the deceased are his wife and the following children: J. A. Young, North Pleasanton, Texas; N. H. Young, Los Angeles, California; I. W. Young, Port Arthur, Texas; Mrs. A. M. SeSage, Homer, La.; Mrs. C. W. Brokaw, Springfield, Ohio; Mrs. A. P. Burton, Winnfield, and Mrs. Leola Williams, Colfax.
