Martin, Sr., 40, employee of Olin Mathieson in West Monroe, who died from injuries received Wednesday when the left sife of his body was crushed by a 2000 pound battery pack as it slid from a truck tipped forward under the load of a roll of paper. Mr. Martin was a native of Winn and was the nephew of K. C. Simmons, Principal of Dodson and Mrs. Albert Crain and Mrs. Cicero Gates, all of Rt. 1, Dodson. He also had many other relatives in this area............. Last rites for Mr. Martin will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at McClendon Baptist Church, outside West Monroe, with burial to follow in Twin City Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife, one son, three daughters; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Martin and four brothers, all of West Monroe. May 3, 1962 Father of Mrs. V. O. Jones To Be Buried Friday Charles R. Moody, 79, of Goldonna, died in a Winnfield hospital at 5:51 a.m. Thursday, May 3, after a short illness. he was a native of Springdale, Ark., and a member of the Goldonna Baptist Church. Last rites will be conducted Friday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at the Goldonna Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Goldonna, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Charles R. Moody, Goldonna; one daughter, Mrs. V. O. Jones, Winnfield; one son, D. L. Moody, Goldonna; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren. February 15, 1962 J. N. Moore, Retired Railroader, Succumbs Feb. 10 James N. Moore, 75 years, 21 days of age, died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at a Winnfield hospital. He was a retired employee of the L & A Railway, having served them 23 years before retiring 11 years ago. A native of Grant Parish, mr. Moore had been a resident at 1800 Maple Street, Winnfield, for the past 12 years. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at Hixson Bros. Chapel, Winnfield, with Mr. Albert Sexton of DeQuincy and Mr. Jack Mulkey of Hammond, officiating. Burial was in Liberty Chapel Cemetery in Grant Parish. Acting as pallbearers were Leroy Price, James Skains, Charles Dunn, Glen Billiter, Clarence Nield, and Ray LaPrarie. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Mosley Moore, Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. M. C. (Wanda) Ekelund of Mobile, Ala.,; two grandchildren, James and Jeanine Ekelund; two brothers, Frank Moore, Pioneer, La., and Allen Moore, Houston, Texas; one sister, Mrs. O. J. Broussard, Houston, Texas.
