Carroll Dies; Burial At Goldonna Funeral services for Howard H. Carroll, 62, of Rt. 2, Winnfield, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of southern Funeral Home here with the Revs. James Gorham and W. F. Harrell officiating. Burial was in Goldonna Cemetery at Goldonna. Mr. Carroll died Sunday, February 9, 1975 at his residence after a short \ illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Villie Carroll of Winnfield; one son, Don Howard Carroll of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Smith of Alexandria and Mrs. Nita Veillon of Ville Platte; three brothers, R. C. Carroll of Springhill, Neal Carroll of Ball, and Elbert Carroll of Georgetown; and seven grandchildren. February 12, 1975 P. T. Chelette Dies; Rites At D'Artigo Pete Timothy Chelette, 67, of Colfax, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, February 9, 1975 in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was a retired school bus driver and mechanic and a lifetime resident of Grant Parish. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Lemoine Chelette of Colfax; five sons, Dentis Chelette, Billy Charles Chelette, Joe Edward Chelette, and Jerry Lee Chelette, all of Colfax, and Ben H. Chelette of Gardener; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Johnson of Montgomery; two brothers, Abel B. Chelette and J. D. Chelette, both of Colfax; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Traylor of Verda and Mrs. Lottie M. Chelette of Shreveport; and 11 grandchildren. February 12, 1975 A. S. Crawley Dies; Rites Held Saturday Funeral services for Archie S. Crawley, 74, of Sikes, were held at 2:30 Saturday at the Sikes Baptist Church with the Revs. Edward Smith and Norris Curry officiating. Burial was in Sikes Cemetery. Mr. Crawley died Thursday, February 6, 1975 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtie Crawley of Sikes; one son, Sanford Crawley of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Huuford of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Annie Smith of Sikes; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. February 12, 1975 Interment For Mrs. Howell At Transport Mrs. Bertie L. Howell, 65, of Winnfield, died Saturday, February __, 1975 in _____________ here. Survivors are her husband, D. M. Howell, Sr., of Winnfield; a son, D. M. Howell, Jr., of Winnfield; a daughter, Mrs. Rolene Walker of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. Robert Lincecum of Pollock; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Laurel Heights Assembly of God with Rev. W. F. Harrell officiating. Burial was in Transport Cemetery, Dodson, under direction of Southern. February 12, 1975 Sister of Mrs. Spencer Dies In Arkansas Mrs. Betty Boyett Hughes, 93, of Taylor, Ark., a native of Winn Parish and sister of Mrs. Dan Spencer of Route 3, Winnfield, died at her residence Wednesday, February 5, 1975 after a short illness. Services were held in Taylor United Methodist Church with Rev. Calvin Miller officiating, assisted by Rev. Winston Hudnall. Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery. Survivors other than Mrs. Spencer are three sons, five daughter, two step daughters, one of whom is Mrs. J. E. Dean of Georgetown, 17 grandchildren, 24 great children 14 step grandchildren. February 12, 1975 Former Resident Of Dodson Dies In Florida Graveside services were held Sunday, February 9, 1975 at 2 p.m. in Ruston for Mrs. Jimmy Thomas of Pahokee, Florida, the former Sarah Pankey, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. ?. H. Pankey, former residents of Dodson and Ruston.
