Bryant, 70, of Montgomery, were held at 4 p.m. in Northside Baptist Church of Montgomery with the Rev. Junior McManus officiating. Burial was at New Salem Cemetery near Montgomery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mrs. Bryant died Saturday, August 4, 1979 in Grant Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Edward Edmond of Montgomery. July 11, 1979 Milton Calhoun Services for Milton Calhoun, 65, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Alabama Presbyterian Church near Choudrant with the Revs. Robert Gage and D. L. O'Neal officiating. Burial was in the Sibley Cemetery near Choudrant under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Calhoun died Friday night in Methodist Hospital, Houston, after a short illness. He was a retired farmer, a native of Choudrant, and chairman of the deacons of Alabama Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Calhoun of Choudrant; two daughters, Mrs. Lou Ferguson of Winnfield and Mrs. Wanda Huey of Ruston; a son, Billy Calhoun of Oak Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Davis of Sterlington, Mrs. Leta Holstead of Ruston, and Mrs. Katie Lea Holstead of Port Neches, Texas; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were John Arch O'Neal, Norris Smith, Gene Posey, K. Dale Ford, Curtis Dugdale, and Joe Dugdale. July 11, 1979 Mrs. Carter Services for Mrs. Rosie K. Carter, 64, of Winnfield were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Vienna Cemetery in Vienna. Mrs. Carter died Wednesday, July 4, 1979 at Winnfield General Hospital. Survivors include one son, Frank Barnett of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Dovie Hudson of Trout, Miss Essie Belle Knight of Alexandria, and Mrs. Dempsey Bedgood of Goldonna; and three grandchildren. July 25, 1979 Charley Dean Services for Charley D. Dean, 91, of Goldonna were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Yankee Springs Baptist Church in Goldonna with the Revs. W. L. Fussell and Ernie Yocum officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield. Mr. Dean died Monday, July 23, 1979 in Jackson Parish Hospital after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia Dean of Goldonna; two sons, Joseph Dean and Jack Dean, both of Goldonna; six daughters, Mrs. Armetta Huddleston of Natchitoches, Mrs. Cornelia Ross, Mrs. Zahila Ross, and Mrs. Jessie Pratt, all of Goldonna, Mrs. Pearlie McLaren and Mrs. Elvie Johnston, both of Winnfield; three stepsons, Chester Ross and Fred Ross of Goldonna, Ozie Ross of Winnfield; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruby Sevier of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Nena Cunningham of Goldonna and Mrs. L. B. Barnes of Lone Star, Texas; 41 grandchildren, and 62 great grandchildren. July 11, 1979 Dee Ingles Dee Ingles, 75, of Winnfield, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 1979 in Veterans Administration Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Estelle Ingles of Minden; four sons, L. C. Ingles and Darrell Ingles, both of Winnfield, the Rev. Wallace Ingles of Sikes, and Vernon Ingles of Monroe; four daughters, Winnie Bedgood of Shreveport, Alice Dempsey and Adeline Easterly, both of Baton Rouge, and Linda Murray of Minden; one brother, Jerone Ingles of Winnfield; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Brown of Winnfield; 27 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Southern, Winnfield, with the Revs. E. B. Barton and Thomas Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was in Gorhamtown Cemetery. July 25, 1979 Mrs. James Services for Mrs. Veva James, 84, of Atlanta were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Iatt Baptist Church with the Revs. Gerald Page and Kelly Tingle officiating. Burial was in Iatt Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mrs. James died Sunday, July 22, 1979 in the Winnfield General Hospital. She was a native of Winn Parish and a member of Iatt Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, O. A. James of Montgomery, A. C. James and Troy James, both of Atlanta, and Huey James of Winnfield; four daughers, Mrs. Thelma Horn of Atlanta, Mrs. Sybil Guilliams, Mrs. Hazel Roberts, and Mrs. Vernell Poisso, all of Winnfield; 31 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren. July 25, 1979 Mrs. Tannehill Services for Dora Tannehill, 90, of Urania, were held at 4 p.m. Friday in Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Ms. Tannehill died Thursday, July 19, 1979 in her home. She was a retired postal employee. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Theodore Tannehill of Tullos and Glenn Tannehill of Urania; one daughter, Mrs. Marietta McDade of Belcher; one brother, Frank Schaedel of Dallas; three sisters, Ms. Mamie Kendale and Mrs. Emma Hill, both of Monroe, and Mrs. Bass Carr, Shreveport; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
