This is a picture of Adolphus Duplissey. It was taken about 1900 near Indian 
Creek in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. He was born June 17, 1817 in Avoyelles 
Parish and died February 17, 1902 near Indian Creek in Rapides Parish, 
Louisiana. His parents were Dominique Plessy and Nancy Roe (Rowe). Adolphus 
moved to a part of Natchitoches Parish that later became Winn Parish, when he 
was about four years old. He moved away from Winn Parish after 1880. Adolphus 
first married to Matilda Ann Franks July 19, 1837 in Natchitoches Parish. She 
was the daughter of Joseph Franks and Rebecca Thompson. Adolphus married second 
time to Nancy E. Gibson on December 4, 1877 in Caldwell Parish.

Additional Comments:
Adolphus Duplissey's father,Dominique Plessy,was born about 1777 in Bordeaux, 
France. Adolphus's mother, Nancy Roe (Rowe), was born 1797 in Edgefield, South 
Carolina and died after 1856 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.
