She lived in Winnfield until 1927, when her father, John Graham, closed his Graham Grocery Store and moved to Shreveport. Jewell worked as legal secretary for nearly 50 years and raised two children. She passed away March 24, 1994 in Shreveport. === John Anderson Graham, Sr. (1850-1911) Lucindy Fisher Graham (1859-1935) John Anderson Graham, Sr. was born in Columbia County, Arkansas in 1850. In the late 1800's John moved to Winn Parish, and settled in the community of St. Maurice near the Saline Bayou. He married Lucindy Fisher who was born 2 April 1859 near Pleasant Hill, LA. John farmed the land, and horse traded in the areas until his death in 1911. He died from a gunshot from a 10-guage shotgun in the hands of E.J. Gamble during a duel. Once friends, the two men exchanged words over a debt owed by Gamble to one of John's sons. John died June 11, 1911, and it is not known if the senior Gamble made good on the debt owed the younger Graham. Both John Graham and E.J. Gamble are buried in the St. Maurice Cemetery adjacent to US Highway 71. Lucindy Graham died 20 Nov 1935. === John A. Graham, Jr. Family John opened a grocery store in Winnfield with $500 on July 8, 1912. This store was located next to the railway station. In January of 1919 he moved the store to the soutwest corner across from the Courthouse where he remained in business until he closed the store in 1927. Pictured is John with his wife Ina (Shumate) and two of his children, William and Jewell. === William H. Graham William H. Graham, was born in Winnfield on September 15, 1918. William remained in Winnfield until is parents John Anderson Graham and Ina Leona (Shuamte) Graham moved to Shreveport due to poor health of Williams father. William entered the service during WWII, and later became a Captain on the Shreveport Fire Department. William first married Flora Mae Gallaway, and second Nelda Jane Dean. William passed away in Shreveport on May 07, 1979.
