A certificate of Honorable Mention was awarded to the Carey Mine in the National Safety Competition sponsored by the Bureau of Mines after a safety record in 1946 of 73,522 man hours without an accident. The same award has been received two years previously. Three employees in center are displaying the two honorable mention certificates received in previous years and the Joseph A. Holmes Safety Award given by the U. S. Bureau of Mines for the meriteroius safety record. Pictured left to right, front row are: Eugene Kelly, Odus Holland, Sam Hubbard, J. C.
