THE WINNFIELD-NEWS AMERICAN Friday, April 22, 1938 SHELL-DAVIS Very interesting of weddings of recent date was that of Miss June Reading Davis, daughter of Mrs. Isabelle Reading Davis to Mr. Dudley Peters Shell, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Shell, which was quietly solemnized at the First Presbyterian church here on Wednesday morning at seven thirty o'clock with the Rev. Alwin Stokes officiating in the presence of the immediate families and a small group of close friends. The bride if the only daughter of Mrs. Isabelle Davis, and is a favorite in social circles here, enjoying a wide popularity because of her beauty, charm and grace. Mr. Shell is one of the young business men of Winnfield and is connected with the Winnfield Lumber Supply Company, a firm he has been with since its organization. He attended Louisiana Tech and [sic] a member of the Omega Kappa fraternity at that institution. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Shell left for a wedding trip through south louisiana and the Gulf Coast section, to return and be at home after May 25 in their apartment at the home of Mrs. Will Eagles on Walnut Street.
