They will make their home in Oxford, Kansas, where Rev. Mixon is pastor of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Mixon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mixon former residents of Winnfield. He is a graduate of Louisiana College. PRINCE-ARLEDGE Mr. Allen Arledge of Houston, Texas and Miss Loyce Prince of Sikes were married at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alwin Stokes officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Louis Prince of Sikes. SMITH-WELLS Of widespread interest to their many friends in Louisiana and Arkansas was the marriage of Miss Elaine Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Smith of Winnfield to Mr. Earl Thomas Wells, Jr. son of Mr and Mrs. E. T. Wells, Sr., of Helena, Arkansas, on Sunday December 26th. The ceremony was performed by Dr. M. E. Dodd in the parlors of the First Baptist Church of Sherveport at 5:30 o'clock in the afternoon in the presence of a few relatives and close friends. The bride was given in marriage by her father and her only attendant was Miss Margaret Grigsby of Winnfield. The bride was gowned in an afternoon frock of forest green alpaca with black accessories, and she wore a corsage of gardenias and lillies of the valley. Albert Smith, Jr., served the bridegroom as best man. Mrs Wells is a graduate of Whitworth College and the University of Arkansas. She is a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Mr Wells attended school at Washington and Lee University and University of Arkansas. He is a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Mr. and Mrs. Wells will make their home in Helena, Arkansas. MARRIAGE LICENSE BUSINESS IS BRISK DURING HOLIDAYS: C. F. Walsworth, Clerk of Court, reports that the marriage license business during the holiday period was brisk, as twenty licenses were issued between December 18 and December 29. Among the couples who received licenses were: R. W. Strickland and Miss Nona Driggers, W. H. Allbritton and Mrs Irene Tibbits; W. C. Sheffield and Miss Gracie Johnson; Allen Arledge and Miss Loyce Prince.
