The mother of the deceased young woman, died a few days after her daughter's marriage. In New Orleans, December 22, of a broken heart, Mr. John LEWIS, late of Montreal, merchant, 27 - also his eldest son, John George. Lost overboard from schr WILLIAM on the passage from Boston to Eastport, Capt. BAKER, master of the said schr. On the night of 14th inst., while off Matinicus, when reefing the mainsail, the main sheet parted and Capt. BAKER and two hands being on the main beam, fell overboard. The two hands succeeded in getting on board, but Capt. B. was drowned. He has left a wife and children in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Nathaniel LAWRENCE, 77, for forty nine years Pastor of the church in that place. February 23, 1843 In Centreville, Mrs. Lucy, wife of Mr. Joseph HINCKLEY - an excellent woman. In Chatham, January 1, 1843, John HARDY Jr., aged 40 years and 7 months, after a long and tedious sickness of two years and one month, he has left a wife and three children to mourn his loss. His sickness was caused by the wounds received on board the brig SOUTHER, by the East Boston ferry boat MERRIMACK, coming in contact with the brig's warping line while in the act of passing the brig to the ferryway. TAYLOR, 42, a native of Chatham where he has a wife and seven children. He was the 2d officer of the schr J. COOLEY & CO, and came to his death by the falling of a block from aloft, when discharging a hogshead. The casualty was one which excited the commisseration of the whole community, which was manifested by the number who attended his funeral. March 2, 1843 In Barnstable, on Sunday night last, Mrs. Violet COFFIN, colored, aged 98 years. In Boston, Mrs. Nancy, wife of Rev. March 9, 1843 In this village on Sunday morning last, Ebenezer TAYLOR, a Revolutionary pensioner, aged 82 years, on Monday morning following, Thankful, his wife, aged 79 years. The remains of the venerable pair were conveyed to the Congregational Meetinghouse in Yarmouth where an impressive sermon was preached by Rev. Mr. COGSWELL - and both were buried in one grave. In Boston, February 28, Rev. John SIMPKINS, 76. Mr. S. entered Harvard College in 1782, graduated in 1786, took the Degree of A.M. in 1789 and in 1791 was ordained over a large and respectable Society in North Harwich (now Brewster). Increasing deafness and infirm health induced him to ask a dismission, which was granted about a year after, with mutual kind feelings; he preached his farewell discourse in 1831, being just 40 years from the time he was ordained. The Church over which he was settled as pastor was formed in the year 1700. In 1831 he was but the third minister of that Church from the time of its formation. In Charlestown, Rev. March 30, 1843 In South Yarmouth, March 29, of consumption, John W., son of Capt. Ormond and Eunice EASTON. Capt. S.T. WHELDEN, whose age we recorded last week as about 27 years old, was older than we then stated. He was about 32. In Centreville, on Sunday morning last, of consumption, Mr. Eleazer H. BEARSE, aged 56 years. In Chatham, 18th inst., Thomas G., youngest son of Capt. Joseph REED, 3 months, 18 days. Lost from schr MONTANO of Barnstable, (supposed in the gale night of 16th inst.) off Eaton's Neck, Long Island, Capt. James W. CROWELL, Master; Mr. George BEARSE, Mate; Mr. Daniel DAVIS, seaman, all of Centeville and a foreigner. Capt. CROWELL was an active young man and has left a wife and two children. Mr. DAVIS was about 40 and has left a wife and four children. Mr. BEARSE was unmarried. The MONTANO sailed from Centreville on the 13th for New York. At St.Jago, Cape de Verds, January 4th, Charles G. PHINNEY of New Bedford. April 13, 1843 In West Barnstable, Mr. Ezra CROCKER, aged 68. Mr. C. had for some time been afflicted with an affection of the heart, and had been cautioned by his physician against over exertion. On Sunday morning last, he attended services, and was heard to remark that he felt much better than usual. He took his seat, and soon afterwards was observed to throw his head back - and gasp - friends hastened to his assistance, but he expired in a few moments. In Brewster, Mr. Seth FREEMAN, 58.
