In Boston, suddenly, 28th ult., Isabel Belcher, youngest child of Mr. Hiram COLE, 4-1/2 years. In York, Maine, 30th ult., Mr. Jeremiah LINSCOTT, 45. He dropped dead in his pasture. In New Orleans, 23d ult., by a stroke of the sun, Capt. E.P. COOPER, of schr ATLANTA of Plymouth. Lost overboard from schr ATLANTIC on the passage from Calais to Boston, 27th ult., off Moosepecca Head, William SOOLEY, seaman, of Nova Scotia. While reefing the mainsail he stood in the stern boat and one of the ring bolts gave way, letting down one end of the boat, and throwing him into the sea. The vessel was rounded to - but too late to save him. Lost at sea, on the passage from Boston to Valparaiso, February 5th, Mr. Thomas BROWN Jr., of Salem, 28, first officer of brig COMMISSARY of Boston. When off River of Plate, they experienced very severe weather and Mr. BROWN and two men, while putting some spars across the stern davits, were precipitated into the sea by the breaking of the hinge of one of the davits. One of the men caught a rope from the vessel and the other was picked up by the boat, but Mr. BROWN sank before assistance could be rendered him. In New York, 6th inst., Mr. William H. COOK, printer, 36. Drowned, in Gloucester recently, while bathing. Charles, son of Mr. David WHITE, aged about 13. He had just left the dinner table in usual health and in a few minutes was brought back a breathless corpse. Every effort was made to restore him, but life had fled. Death occasioned by falling into the fire. Unable to extricate herself she became so burned that she died in a few hours - a solemn admonition to all inebriates. In West Stockbridge, 5th inst., Mr. John FORD, 93. A soldier of the Revolution. He emigrated from Connecticut about 70 years ago and was among the early settlers of West Stockbridge. He was a soldier under General GATES in 1777 at Ticonderoga and among the veterans who compelled General BURGOYNE to surrender his army at Saratoga. In Winchester, New Hampshire, Hon. In Cincinnati, 3d inst., Mr. Jonathan LEWIS, a native of Barnstable County and for the last 28 years a resident of Dearborn County, Iowa, aged 79. October 2, 1845 ANOTHER REVOLUTIONARY SOLDIER GONE! Died, in South dennis, August 28th, Capt. Samuel CHASE, in the 84th year of his age. Capt. CHASE possessed an unusually strong constitution combined with an energetic and active mind. Many have been interested and instructed in listening to the stories and incidents he was ever fond of relating, concerning the great struggle for American Independence. He used frequently to revert to the winter in which he was released from service, far away from home, without money and without friends. He was obliged to walk many miles in the middle of winter, without shoes and thinly clad. At night, clearing a place in the snow, wrapping his blanket around him and placing his knapsack under his head, he took his repose. But he was not discouraged or daunted at hardships, he persevered, notwithstanding the many difficulties and trials which he encountered, he succeeded in accumulating a large property. He was two years chosen representative to Gene! ral Court and was a Selectman for quite a number of years. In this village, on Sunday morning last, of consumption, Mr. Joseph W. GRAY, aged 31 years. In this town, William D., son of John and Hannah LORING, aged 3 months. In Yarmouth, on Saturday, 13th inst., Eliza Ann, eldest daughter of Mr. Isaac SMALLEY, aged 15 years and 6 months (published incorrectly last week). In P'town, 29th ult., of the dropsy after a short illness, Mrs. Mary, wife of Mr. Jonathan HOPKINS 2d, aged 40 years. In Sandwich, August 5th, William Francis, son of William and Aurelia PRICE, 21 months old. In Cotuit, 28th ult., Caroline S. , dughter of Mr. Richard HANDY, aged 16 months. In Wellfleet, 19th, Mr. John K. MAYO, eldest son of Capt. Noah MAYO, aged 20. In East Falmouth, 13th, of dropsy on the brain, Abbott Lawrence, son of Isaac Henry and Susan L. HATCH, aged 23 months. October 9, 1845 In Baltimore, Henry HINKLEY, son of Edward HINKLEY, Esq., formerly of Barnstable, aged 20. In Sandwich, Saturday morning last, Paulina, youngest child of Capt. George ATKINS, 2 years and 2 months. On Friday evening, 3d inst., Joseph Anthony, son of Charles H. CHAPOUIL, aged 16 months. In Pocasset, September 30th, Paulina D., daughter of William HANDY Jr., Esq., 2 years and 7 months. In Eastham, September 28th, Deacon Ebenezer PAINE, aged 80 years. Deacon PAINE was a descendent of Thomas PAINE, one of the early settlers of the town of the fourth generation. He professed religion in very early life, was at his death the oldest member of this eminent Pilgrim church, which was established in 1646, by emigration from the Plymouth church, called the "great emigration". He moved through life in an even way, adorned his profession by a blameless and inreproachable life, and died in a good old age in full possession of his reason. He held the office of Deacon of the church 31 years, the duties of which he performed with faithfulness. He was chosen Town Clerk and Teasurer 20 years in succession. He lived respected and beloved by his family and fellow citizens and died lamented by all who knew him. October 16, 1845 In this village, on Monday morning last, Martha L., daughter of Mr. Charles LAYMAN, aged 2 years. In Sandwich, on Tuesday last, of consumption, Missk Caroline, daughte of Mr. Joshua NYE, aged about 18 years. In West Barnstable, Mr. Josiah BODFISH, aged 75. October 23, 1845 In West Harwich, October 12th, Elisha, son of Capt. Amos CHASE, aged 16 years. He was blest in his sickness with the forgiveness of his sins and was able to say in his last moments "my trust is in God". In Sandwich, 20th inst., Agnes, daughter of Mr. Samuel ALTON, aged 11 months. In Boston, 15th inst., Capt. George SEARS, a native of Dennis, and formerly a resident of Yarmouth Port, aged 50 years. October 30, 1845 In West Dennis, last evening, Capt. Wilbur HARDING. In Falmouth, 12th inst., Mrs. Basheba WEEKS, aged 69 years. In Barnstable, 23d inst., Betsey B., daughter of Mr. Ebenezer WEEKS of Harwich, aged 8 months and 13 days. In Waterville, Maine, 3d inst., Mrs. Sarah, wife of Jonathan HALLET, aged 36. November 6, 1845 In West Dennis, last evening, very suddenly, Capt. Obed BAXTER. In Orleans, October 23d, Deacon Judah ROGERS, aged 92. He was a highly respected citizen in this town and the oldest person now living in it. He had 10 children, 8 of whom are now living, 64 grandchildren, 35 are now living; 45 great-grandchildren, 35 of whom are now living. The death of Mr. FISH was caused by the fracture of his leg that took place at the removal of a building in the vicinity of Marshpee, one week previous to his decease. Drowned, while skating on a pond near the Universalist meetinghouse in Brewster, on the 13th inst., James CROSBY, aged 12 years, youngest son of the late Capt. James CROSBY, who was murdered on board the brig JUNIPER. He was an interesting lad and by his modest deportment had won the esteem of all who knew him. December 25, 1845 In this town, on Thursday evening last, Miss Phebe RYDER. In West Dennis, on Friday last, Mrs. Elizabeth, wife of Capt. John LAND. In North Dennis, 14th inst., of scarlet fever, Isaac Webster, only child of Frederick and Sally HALL, aged 3 years and 3 months. 19th, Mrs. Sarah, wife of Capt. CROWELL, in the 25th year of her age. In New York, 10th inst., Mr. David GODFREY of the firm of Howes & Godfrey, aged 54. His remains were conveyed to Chatham, his native place and interred on Thursday last. In Chatham, wife of Mr. Joseph YOUNG. On Thursday last, wife of Mr. Amos HAMMOND. In Dedham, on Sunday last, Capt. Daniel COVELL, 64, well known as an experienced shipmaster.
