April, 1822, Ruth Wetherby Brooks, dau. of Calvin Brooks of Cambridge, Mass. Otis B. Prescott was in the U.S. Navy 1836-1838, as purser's steward in the ship Levant. He died at Boston, June 20, 1848. Children: 1. Caroline M. Prescott born at Cambridge, Mass., Sept 26, 1824; m. June 20, 1846, George F. Wellman of New Haven, CT. 2. Catharine S. Prescott b. Feb 15, 1834; m. Sept 30, 1858, Charles Chandler Ward of New York. 3. Sarah Ann Prescott b. May 21, 1837. 4. Calvin Brooks Prescott b. at Boston, July 19, 1843. On the 12th of June, 1862, he enlisted for six mos in the 1st Battalion of Heavy Artillery, Mass. Volunteers. (see p. 157 of the Prescott Memorial fo the history of his service. Transcribed by Janice Farnsworth Several meetings for drill and business were held in May, at one of which it was reported that the mahogeny box containing the die for stamping the brass belt-plates was made and presented to the Company by Lieut. Solomon Loud, 1821. The designs on the belt-plate were sketched by Benjamin T. Curtis, Samuel Curtis and Charles Hubbard (1822), who received from the Company an invitation to the evening entertainment on anniversary day as a compensation for their services. End.
