Vols. in the service of the United States, who is an APPLICANT for an invalid pension by reason of alleged disability resulting from wound right arm left leg and rupture. In my opinion the said HOGAN is some incapacitated for obtaining his subsistence by manual labor from the cause above stated. Judging from his present condition, and from the evidence before me it is my belief that the said disability did ?may?originate in the service aforesaid in the line of duty. The disability is wounds thigh and rupture. A more particular description of the applicant’s condition is subjoined: Height 5.9; weight 160; complexion, dark; age 38; pulse 76; respiration 18. Oct 19, 1864 at Cedar Creek, VA HOGAN received two slight flesh wounds in right fore arm and in surface in left thigh upper part small piece of bone coming out - no permanent injury or real disability, but a small rupture in the right groin caused he says by some strain in this battle. Know he immediately applied a lump - has always arm me since - helping in back no out disability. Might have small pension if he can prove the cause of this rupture in the war.
