Private, Capt. William Bird's company, Col. Webb's regiment; enlisted Aug. 17, 1781; discharged Dec. 1, 1781; service, 3 months, 24 days, travel included; regiment raised in Suffolk and Middlesex counties to reinforce Continental army for 3 months." Additional Comments: Either the father or the son could have served this tour...the father would have been aged 43, but the son's age was 18, and since it was generally the younger who served later in the war, I'm going with the son, unless I find evidence otherwise.
