He resided at Watertown; a schoolmaster, April 12, 1697, until about 1707, when he moved to Boston where he was a teacher. He moved to Framingham, Mar 25, 1714, where he taught a grammar school, several years, and where he received numerous civil, military and ecclesiastical appointments. She died Dec. 4, 1777. She was a grand daughter of Samuel & Hannah (Manning) Stearns, and her first husband's father, Jonathan Stone, was a younger brother of Susanna, wife of Edward Goddard. In 1745, he moved to Worcester, leaving his son John Goddard on the homestead. He died June 26, 1785, aged 87 yrs. Children: 1. John Goddard, b. May 28, 1730, died April 13, 1816, aged 86 yrs.
