Savery Cemetery, Old Sandwich Road, Plymouth, Massachusetts 02360, is located in the South Plymouth (Cedarville) section of the town. The graveyard was established at least as early as 1806. Directions: Going south on Route 3, exit at #2. Take a right at the end of the ramp onto Herring Pond Road. At the stop sign, take a left onto Route 3A (Manomet Road). Travel about 3 miles. Take a left onto Old Sandwich Road (dirt road). The cemetery is immediately on the right behind an iron fence. Transcriptions by Mary Aguilar on 06/17/02. Dates appear from the earliest (1806) to the latest (1962), although unmarked mounds and depressions in the earth may be actual graves of unknown date. Interesting note: There were no "SAVERY" surnames found in this cemetery. Spellings are as they appear on the stone. Where I have typed a question mark in a parenthesis "(?)" means that I am not able to determine exactly what is engraved on the stone, but have taken an educated guess: e.g., "1853(?)" means "It appears to 1853"; or "BURGESS(?)" means "It appears to be BURGESS." A question mark without a parenthesis "?" simply means that an alpha or numeric in a word or date cannot be exactly ascertained but again, an educated guess is made: "185?" means "eighteen-hundred-and-fifty-something"; or "Born ? 7, 1853" means "born on the 7th in an unreadable month in 1853"; or "? BURGESS" means "unreadable given name BURGESS". The stones are in poor-to-excellent condition, some shattered, broken, buried, lichen-covered or worn with age, making it difficult, if not impossible, to transcribe. Note that there appear to be several unmarked gravesites. Also important to note is that I am extremely careful to ensure that NO STONES ARE DAMAGED DURING THIS PROJECT. ******************************************************************************** LUCY Wife of TOMAS HARLOW Died Dec 19, 1887 Aged 85 y'rs 3 mo's 7 days THOMAS HARLOW Died April 18, 1874 Aged 75 y'rs 10 mo's 25 days Mr. HIRAM HARLOW Died March 3, 1811 (The rest of this stone os broken and missing.)
