The deceased was 64 years of age and was born near Boston, Massachusetts. He came west when a youth and was married to Miss Anna Chandler of Princeton, Scott County, Iowa, soon after coming west. In 1867 he moved to Maquoketa and has resided in this city continuously since that year. At an early date he went into the boot and shoe business and conducted a store in this city for several years. Later he sold out and entered the employ of T. E. Cannell, continuing with Cravens & Frank's and the H. Reid & Co. shoe firms. He has been connected with this house for the past 20 years performing faithful and efficient services. He is survived by his wife, but no chi;ldren. Mr. Kimball was a member of the local Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the lodge is in charge of the funeral services which were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the house on Matteson Avenue with interment in Mt.
