David Samuelsen - January 2002 ************************************************************************ Worcester Co MA Wills Vol 36 page 398 Aaron Aldrich probated: 23 May 1809 I, Aaron Aldrich of Douglas in the County of Worcester and Commonwealth of Massachusetts yeman, being indisposed in body but of disposing mind and memory and having a mind to dispose of my Wordly estate by a written. I do it in manner and form following that is to say. - I give and bequeath to Tirzah Aldrich my wife, the use & profits of oe thrid part of all my Lands in my possession except the woodlands I bought of Lemuel Tiffeny joining his other lands, and the East part of my House and cellar undersaid part and the north Bedroom with a Fireplace in it and the small room west and one half of the front entry and one third part of the Barn and corn crib with all the household furniture and one third part of the cider barrels and other dry casks and the Black mare, bridle and side saddle, and give her her choice of three cows (that is) to pick three out of the cows nowupon the farm and also six sheep and one half of the swine and all the flax, the corn, rye and other provisions to be sent in the Family. And I give and bequeath to my eldest son Ezra Aldrich a Note of hand for money I hold against him bareing date November 19th 1802 the sum of Eighty seven dollars, together with six sheep, and one two year old heifer. I also give and devise to my son Aaron Aldrich his heirs and assigns a certain piece of Woodland situate and lying northerly of Lemuel Tifferys supposed to be about twelve acres, to hold to him my said son Aaron Aldrich his heirs and assigns forever . And I further give to my said son Aaron Aldrich one hundred and forty dollars and a pair of steer calves and one heifer calf one year old, meaning hereby to discharge or pay him for all his labour which he has done for me heretofore, the money to be paid to him my said son Aaron within two years after my decease. And I give and devise to my two youngest sons, Joseph Aldrich and John Aldrich their heirs and assigns all the rest and remainder of my lands situate and lying in Douglas & Uxbridge aforesaid, containng about one hundred and fifty acres with the building standing on with the reserve of my wife's dower above mentioned, and also reserving a piece of said for a burying places containin four rods squre, sixteen rods in all to be left in the most suitable place upon the farm for that purpose. And provided they my two youngest shall pay out the Legacies herin after mentioned, then to hold to them my said youngest sons Joseph Aldrich and John Aldrich their heirs and assigns forever. the last gift of lands to be equally divided between my two youngest sons Joseph & John Aldrich. And I further give to my youngest son John Aldrich one pair of oxen and I also give all my farming tools or utensils to my two youngests sons Joseph and John Aldrich to be equally divided between them. I give and bequeath to my four daughters Prudence Wallis, Joanna White, Sarah Tiffeny and Tirzah Pane fifty six dollars a piece to be paid within three years after my decease. And I further give and devise to my four sons Ezra Aldrich, Aaron Aldrich, Joseph Aldrich and John Aldrich their heirs and assigns a piece of Cedar Swamp containing about one acre situate and lying in Shocolog, Cedar Swap so called to be equally divided between them to hold to them the said Ezra Aldrich, Aaron Aldrich, Joseph Aldrich & John Aldrich to them their heirs and assigns forever. And I give the other swine to my youngest son John Aldrich. I also give to my eldest Ezra Aldrich my best suit of strait bodied clothing. I give my best great coat to my son Aaron. Aso to all the rest, residue of my wearing apparel I will, should be equally divded between my four sons above named. And lastly I order my two youngest sons Joseph Aldrich and John Aldrich to pay all my just debts and funeral charges and legacies herein above mentioned that is for Joseph to pay one half and John to pay the other half. And I do hereby nominate and appoint Amos Aldrich Executor and my wife Tirzah Aldrich executrix to this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of the hird month in the year One thousand eight hundred and nine.
