David Samuelsen - January 2002 ************************************************************************ Worcester Co MA Wills Vol 15 page 328 Asahel Aldrich (Quaker) probated 1778 I Asahel Aldrich of Uxbridge in the County of Worcester in the Massachusetts Bay, in New England, Yeoman, and being in health, and perfect mind & memory, and having a mind to settle my worldly estate by a written will I do it in the following manner & form viz. Imprimis my will is that Hannah my wife, have the use, profits & income of all my real Estate, likewise she is to have the use & profits of all my moveable Estate as long as she remain my widow, and if she marry, I give her all the indoor moveables, three cows and a horse, provided she accepts of it in lieu of Dowry in the real estate. Item, I give & bequeath to my two sons Jesse & Asahel Aldrich all my real Estate to be equally divided between them to be & remain unto them & their heirs & assigns forever, provided they allow & pay to their sister Uranah, in money the one firth part of what the land is valued at when Jesse & Martin come into possession of the real estate to be paid equally between them, that is to say, Jesse to pay one mouth, & Asahel the other moiety of the whole Item, I give the whole of my moveable Estate, that remains at the marriage or decease of my Widow to be equally divided between my three children viz, Jesse, Asahel & Uranah Aldrich. My will is that if my wife should marry or decease before the children busme of yet to act for themselves, that my brother Nehemiah Aldrich take the care of my children & make use of the income of the Farm to bring them up to suitable learning for business. My will is that my Executor hereafter named pay my just debts & funeral charges with the out door moveables. Lastly, I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my brother Aaron Aldrich Executor to this my last Will & Testament and I do hereby revoke & make void all other Wills & Testaments by me before this time made. Confirming this and no others to be my last Will & Testament. In witnesses whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the 20th of the Eleventh month 1778.
