David Samuelsen - January 2002 ************************************************************************ Worcester Co MA Vol 24 page 414 John Aldrich probated: 29 Nov 1792 (the will was written very tiny in the book) I, Johjn Aldrich of Northbridge in the County of Worcester in the State of Massachusetts in New England g______ being advanced in age and weak in Body and of perfect mind and memory thanks be givent o God therefor calling ______ the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die do make and ordain this my last will & testament that is to say principally and first of all I recommend my soul un to the hands of God that gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Decent manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned and as to touching such worldy Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this life I give & devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. Imprimis my will is tht my Just Debts which I owe together with my funeral charges shall be well & duly paid by my Executor hereafter named. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Dearly and well Beloved wife Mary Aldrich and to her heirs and assigns forever one third part of all and singular my personall & moveable Estate and also my will is that my said wife shall have the lot improvement of my homestead farm so long as She shall Remain my widow and no longer, Item I give and Bequeath to well beloved son Lot Aldrich and to his heirs and assigns forever all my lands in Richmond whereon he now Dwells he paying six pounds Lawful Silver money to my Executor hereafter named to Enable him to pay my debt & legacies, Item I give and bequeath to my three well beloved sons viz David Aldrich, John Aldrich and Elijah Aldrich th them and to their heirs and assigns forever all my homestead farm to be divided between them, Item I give and Bequeath to my two well Beloved Daughters Viz Isabel Aldrich and Bathsheba Aldrich one full third part of Personal and moveable Estate to be equally divided between them to their sole use forever, Item I give and Bequeath to my three well beloved Daughters viz Penellepy, Cathern & Molley three pounds each in Lawful silver money to be paid by my executor hereafter named. Further more my will is that of theirs should remain in my executor's hands any part of moveable or personal Estate of mine after he has paid out all my Just Debts and funeral Charges & Legacies it shall be equally divided between my five Daughters herin named my will is that my wearing apparel be equally divided between my four sons before named, Finally I do hereby ordain appoint and made my well Beloved Son David Aldrich aforementioned the sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterlyd isallow revke and disannull all and every other former wills legacies and bequeaths and all Exeuctors by m in any wise before named willed or bequeathed keeping and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament, I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this by Eleventh day of November Anno Domini 1782, Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said John Aldrich as his last will and Testmanet in presence of the subscribers.
