Balcom, David, will Douglas, Worcester co, MA Transcribed from SAMPUBCO copy by Sheryl Romasco Worcester, MA Will book Vol Douglas 86 page 632 Will of David Balcom Know all men by these presents that I David Balcom of Douglas in the County of Worcester, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, yeoman, being aged & feeble but of a sound & disposing mind & memory do make & establish this my last will & testament in manner & form following. Viz 1. It is my will that all my just debts & funeral charges be paid by my Executor, herein after named. Also that he procure suitable graves stones for my self & wife. 2. I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Balcom the use & improvement of all my Estate both real & personal (after paying the above mentioned debts and expenses) during her life. 3. It is my will that after the decease of my beloved wife, Mary Balcom, all my household furniture be equally divided between the heirs of Sybil Wallis, wife of David Wallis, the heirs of Dolly Titus, widow of Isaac Titus late of Douglas deceased, the heirs of Sally Smith, wife of Elijah Smith, the heirs of Polly Wallis, wife of Jonathan Wallis, and the heirs of Charlotte Wallis, wife of Timothy Wallis. I.E. each of my daughters families shall have an equal share. Also an equal share to the heirs of Lucy Morse wife of Chester Morse. 4. As my son Ebenezer Balcom, late of Douglas, deceased, did during his life time, receive his share out of my estate, it is my will that nothing be paid to his heirs out of my estate. 5. I give, bequeath & devise all the residue and remainders of my Estate both real and personal to the heirs of my daughters above mentioned, viz. Sybil Wallis, Dolly Titus, Sally Smith, Polly, Wallis, Lucy Morse, Charlotte Wallis. Also the children of my son David Balcom, Jr. late of Douglas deceased to be divided among them, at the decease of my beloved wife, Mary Balcom. So that each family shall receive an equal share. 6. I do hereby constitue & approve, my worthy & trusty friend Sumner Balcom Sole Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills made by me. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this second day of July, one thousand, eight hundred & thirty nine. Holman David Holman Worcester P At a Court of Probate holden at Worcester on the first Tuesday of January AD 1845 The instrument hereunto annexed, purporting to be the last will and testament of David Balcom, late of Douglas in said county, deceased being offered for probate by Sumner Balcom, the Executor therein named and notice having duly been given and no person objecting to the probate thereof, and David Holman one of the witnesses thereto, making oath that he saw said testator sign said will, and that he with Samuel Amidon and Sarah C. Holman attested and subscribed the same as witnesses in the presence of the testator who was then of full age and of sound mind.
