Sadler, Joseph will, Upton, Worcester co, MA Transcribed from SAMPUBCO copy by Sheryl Romasco Worcester, MA Will book Vol. 32 Page 265 Upton, MA JOSEPH SADLER'S WILL In the name of God Amen I Joseph Sadler of Upton in the County of Worcester in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts yeoman calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for man once to die and after Death the Judgment_ Do make and ordain this my last will and testament. that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hand of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my executor hereafter named nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same by the mighty power of God_ and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this life I give and dispose of in the following manner, that is to say Imprimus my will is that all my just debts together with my funeral charges shall well and truly be paid by my executor in convenient time after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Lydia Sadler what house hold furniture that she brought to me when we were married to her and her heirs forever_ and also one part of what real Estate I may die possessed of to improve during her natural life Item I give to my Son Joseph Sadler one third part of my wearing apparel to him and his heirs forever, he my son having received his full portion already Item I give to my Son Benjamin Sadler one third part of my wearing apparel with what he has received is his full portion Item I hereby give and bequeath to my Son John Sadler all my land in Upton with all my livestock of what ___ ____ with all my farming tools to him and his heirs forever Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah the wife of Edward Rawson one quarter part of my household furniture to her and her heirs forever which what she has received is her full portion Item I give to my daughter Mary Haseltine one quarter part of my household furniture not herein disposed of with what she has received is her full portion Item I hereby give and bequeath to my Daughter Lydia the wife of Seth Wood one quarter part of my household furniture to her and her heirs forever with what she has received is her full portion Item I give to my daughter Hannah the wife of Daniel Fisher one quarter part of my household furniture not otherwise disposed of to her and her heirs forever, with what she had is her full portion Furthermore I do hereby constitute make and ordain my Son John Sadler of Upton in the County and Commonwealth aforesaid to be the sole Executor of this my last will and testament to execute and perform the same, and do hereby nullify disallow revoke and make void all former wills testaments and bequeaths executions and do hereby rectify and confirm this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Testimony whereof I do hereby set my hand and seal this the 14 day of July A Domini 1799 in the twenty fourth year of the Independence of the United States of America Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the within named Joseph Sadler to be his last will and Testament in presence of us Abiel Sadler Samuel Deane Joseph Sadler (Seal) Seth Wood Jr. Worcester SS To all people who shall see these presents Nathaniel Paine Esq Judge of the probate of wills and in the said County of Worcester within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Sendeth Greetings Know ye that on the 22nd Day of November AD. 1803 the instrument hereunto annexed purporting the last will and testament of Joseph Sadler late of Upton is said County Yeoman deceased was presented for Probate by John Sadler the executor therein named; then present Abiel Sadler and Samuel Dean two of the witnesses thereto subscribed, who made oath that they saw the said Testator sign seal and heard him declare the said Instrument to be his last will and Testament and that he was then to the best of their judgment of sound disposing mind and that they along with Seth Wood Jr. subscribed their names together as witnesses to the Execution thereof in the said Testators presence I do therefore prove, approve and allow of the said instrument as the last will and testament of said deceased and commit the administration thereof in all matters the same concerning and of his Estate whereof he died seized and possessed in said Commonwealth unto John Sadler the before named executor well and faithfully to execute said will and to administer the estate of said deceased according thereto who accepted said ____ and hath given Bond according to Law and he shall render an account of his proceedings when thereunto lawfully required In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal of Office the day and year above written Nathaniel Paine J Probate
