Will Book Vol. 43:146/147 Written: February 1, 1809 "Be it remembered thet I, Sarah Nichols of Sutton, in the County of Worcester, Spinster, being in good health of Body & in perfect mind and memory; calling to mind the mortality of my Body, do this first day of February Anno Domini, One Thousand eight hundred and nine, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following - Iprovinis, I give and bequeath to my Sister Abigail Pratt, my Feather bed, under bed, bedstead and cord, with two pair cotton sheets, two pair cotton Pillow cases and two Pillows and Bolster, also two bed Quilts and yarn Coverled, and also my Ear jewells or nubs, as so called, & also one pair of tow Sheets and my best silk Gown & four Shifts, two cotton and two tow - now in regard to the remainder of my Clothes & Linen or Household goods wheresoever it may be found, my Will is that it be divided in equal shares and one share be Delivered to the said Sister Abigail and my Sister Joanna Groo to have the other shares- As to my gold Necklace I give it to the Daughter of my Sister Groo by the name of Sarah Blodget- Item - I give to my Brother Henry Nichols, One Dollar Item - I give to my Brother Isaac Nichols, One Dollar Item - I give to my Brother William Nichols, One Dollar Item - I give to my Brother Benjamin Nichols, One Dollar The four last to be paid in one year, by my Executor, after my Decease. Now when all my just Debts and funeral charges is paid, what Estate dower of mine and wheresoever it may be found I give my Sister Abigail Pratt (not her late Husband John Pratt) and my Sister Joanna Groo the whole in equal shares or halves, whether Notes of hand or Book Debts or whatsoever.- And Lastly, I do constitute and appoint and ordain Deacon Moses Putnam of Sutton aforesaid yeoman, sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.- In testimony whereof, I do here unto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.- Signed, sealed published & pronounced and declared by the said Sarah Nichols as and for her Last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at her request and in her - hereunto set our names as Witnesses to the same - Sarah X Nichols mark Peter Putnam John Putnam, Jr Nathan Lombard" Sarah's will was proved on 2 November 1813 Additional Comments: If anyone has any information on any "JOHNs" from this clan, born 1780-1790, please contact me.
