McNAMEE was born Abt. 1790 in Hagerstown, Washington Co. MD, and died in MD He married ANNA MARIA MIllER July 23, 1808 in Hagerstown, Washingto Co., Md. Notes for MOSES W McNAMEE: Beatrice Burton : Moses is believed to have come to Ohio. His religion: Zion Reforn Church, Hagerstown, MD Linda J Miller birth info. Moses and Mary were married by Rev. Rahouser. Children of Moses were taken from the family list at the LDS library in Colorado Springs. They were obtained from the Microfilm of the records of the Zion Reformed Church in Hagerstown, MD along with a record of their births and christening dates for some of them. MD, Christening was May 9, 1809. This film is on Microfilm by LDS church. It seems apparent from the dates thai Maria and Aron were twins. iii. ELANORA MCNAMEE, b. Notes for EMERSETH McNAMEE: Birth and Christening dates were obtained from filmed pages of the Zion Reformed Church of Hagerstown, MD. and the christening date was 17th of June 1814. This was filmed by the LDS church in Hagerstown. MD. and is on microfilm vi. HENRY I. McNAMEE, m. Elizabeth Eckles February 25, 1840 according to county records of Allegany Co. MD. vii. SAVILLA McNAMEE. m. WILLIAM MCNEILL July 31, 1837 Cumberland, Md. from County of Allegany, MD. records. Notes for SAVILLA McNAMEE: Found no documentation on this person other than she is reported to be a sister of Maria. Her name was used for a child of John Thomas Reid a son of Maria. Generation NO.2 2. MARIA' McNAMEE was born May 03. 1809 in Hagerstown, Washington Co Md, and died 1869 in Cumberland. Md. She married GEORGE M. REID SR. May 22, 1828 in Cumberland. Md Birth and Christening dates obtained from filmed notes of Zion Reformed Church in Hagerstown Md. These pages were filmed by the LDS Church and are on microfilm. Christened May 9,1809. Notes for GEORGE M. REID SR. George Sr. had a sisters by the named Ann and Cecelia and brothers named Peter, Thomas H., and James. They owned lot 269 in the City of Cumberland on Mechanic St. The lot was inherited from their mother, Maria. Children of MARIA McNAMEE and GEORGE REID are: i. JOHN THOMAS REID, b. August 03. 1829. Cumberland. Md.; d. January 14, 1902, Denver Colorado. Buried in Loveland Co; m. MARIA BELTZ, March 11, 1851 Cumberland, Md. Notes for JOHN THOMAS REID: Information on John comes from severaI sources. US census. News papers and I have a copy of his obituary and the record of his burial place. Also a copy of newspaper notice of his marriage to Maria. He is buried in Grave #7, lot #8, Block H. This lot was purchased by his son William S. Reid in Loveland, CO. Msrriage Notes for JOHN REID and MARIA BELTZ: License for marriage was taken March 3, 1851. ii. MARY ANN REID b. abt 1831 m. John Perry Willard Notes for MARY ANN REID All information comes from the 1860 and 1870 US Census. iii. MARTHA REID. b. 1833, Cumberland, Md; m ALFRED BEALL December 08. IS55. Cumberland, Md. Notes for MARTHA REID: Martha's age was determined by the US Census, Her marriage was taken from a list of marriages recorded at the LDS library in Colorado Springs. Notes for ALFRED BEALL: They lived in Pike Co. MO. 1875 iv. GEORGE M. REID JR. b. July 20, 1835. Cumberland, Md. d. October 8, 1901 (Rail-Road accident) Buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Cumberland, Md. Notes for GEORGE M. REID JR.: 1900 US Census shows George Jr. as single and living at House # between 46 and 56 on South Mechanic St. in Cumberland; also lists an adopted son Raymond living there. He is 22 years old and a plasterer by trade. The census also shows a cousin by the name of Thomas Hays. a carpenter living with the Reids. George was killed in an accident on the B&0 RR and he willed all of his possessions to Louisa Berkley, his sister, includmg the real estate which was the house they lived in. v. LOUISA REID: b. 1837, Cumberland, Md. d 1910 Cumberland, Md. m. GEORGE BERKLEY July 28, 1866 Notes for LOUISA REID 1900 US Census shows her last name as Berkley. She is shown as the mother of 4 children. She was living with her brother George and shown as widowed. The 1870 Census shows one of the children as Maggie b. 1867 in MD. She is also found her listed as a pensioner of the Civil War and must assume ber husband George Berkley earned her that award. Louisa apparently had two girls out-of- wedlock (before 1866). She lists Raymond as her grandson. She is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery with brother George, her daughters Ann Richards and Ida Oliver and her granddaughters - all in George's plot. vi. CATHERINE REID. b. 1838, Cumberland. Md., m. JAMES FINLEY ANDERSON December 1, 1858, Cumberland, Md. Notes for CATHERINE REID She was also listed as being married to Anderson In the list of marriages from the record at the LDS library. vii. MARGARET J. REID. b 1841. Cumberland, Md. m. GEORGE S COUTERS December 11, 1861, Cumberland Md. viii. ROBERT H. REID. b. 1842 Cumberland. Md. m. BRIDGET ENOS abt 1868 Cumberland, Md. d. July 28, 1920, Cumberland. Md. Notes for ROBERT H. REID: The information on Robert comes not only from lhe US Census but was verified by Jack Reid's personal research in Courthouse (Cumberland) and Library Collection (Allegany Community College). ix. JAMES REID. b. 1844. Cumberland. Md.: m. MARY CATHERINE HELFREY. December 23. 1869. M. SARAH E FAZENBAKER. December 29,1873. Notes for JAMES REID. The only consistent article on James is that he was a mall carrier. x. WILLIAM REID. b. 1846. Cumberland. Md. d. November 11, 1916 Cumberland, Md. Notes for WILLIAM REID: He was 35 when he married Mary Ann Rebecca McNabb in 1882. He and his wife are burried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Maryland. xi. FRANCIS MARIAN REID. b. 1850. Cumberland. Md. m. JOHN FISHER d. August 21, 1911 Noles for FRANCIS MARION REID' All of this information comes from the 1870 US Census. Her husband is listed as bead of household at the same South Mechanic address. They share the house with her brothers. Additional Comments: Actually more of the 2nd McNamee/Reid descendants.
