Wright AT THE REQUEST of William Wright this deed was recorded 14 May 1838. THIS INDENTURE made this 2nd day of April 1838 between GEORGE ARNOLD and RACHEL ARNOLD, of the County of Fairfield and State of Ohio of the one part and WILLIAM WRIGHT of the county of Allegany and the State of Maryland of the other part. WITNESSETH that for and in consideration of the sum of $500.00 current money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said William Wright, the receipt whereof they the said George Arnold and Rachel Arnold doth hereby acknowledge and forever exonerate and discharge the said William Wright, hath granted bargained and sold, aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien, enfeoff and confirm to him the said William Wright his heirs and assigns forever all their, the said George Arnold and Rachel Arnold's right title and estate BEING ONE HALF OF HENRY WRIGHTS undivided part of the real estate of Henry Wright, late of Allegany County, deceased of in and to the following real estate both at law and in Equity to wit: All that tract of land called and known by the name of WALNUT LEVEL, contained within the following courses and distances to wit: BEGINNING AT A bounded black oak now a stone set standing on the head of a branch of Nell(?) Creek about a mile from Nehemiah Collin's road and running thence west 308 perches, North 10º, west 320 perches, south 60º, east 208 perches, south 50º, east 100 perches then by a straight line to the beginning, containing and laid out for 390 acres more or less, to have and to hold the same to the said William Wright his heirs and assigns forever, with all the priveleges and appurtenances to the same belonging, or in any wise appertaining together with all and the right title, estate, property, trust and demand, whatsoever of them the said George Arnold and Rachel Arnold of in and to the same to the said William Wright his heirs and assigns and to and for no other use or intent whatsoever, and they the said George Arnold and Rachel Arnold doth covenant, grant and agree to and with the said William Wright to warrant and defend the said land and premises to him the said William Wright his heirs and assigns from and against all manner of person or persons whatsoever. IN WITNESS whereof we have set unto our hands and affixed our seals the day and year herein before written. Signed, Sealed and deliverd in presence of David Ewing and John Ewing. State of Ohio, Fairfield County: I David Ewing, one of the associate Judges in and for the county of Fairfield aforesaid do hereby certify that Rachel Arnold, the wife of George Arnold, parties to the foregoing deed, personally appeared before me in the county aforesaid and being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband, and having the said deed fully explained to her she declared that she did voluntarily sign said deed and acknowledge the same to be her act and deed and that she was still satisfied therewith and now acknowledges the same. Also at the same time and place came the said George Arnold and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the said instrument at his act and deed, as witness my hand and seal this 2nd day of April 1838.
