Md Written: March 22, 1845 Recorded: December 1, 1845 At the request of George M. Reid the following deed was recorded December 1st, 1845. This Indenture made the twenty second day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & forty five between William Craver and Ann Craver his wife of Allegany County in the State of Maryland of one part and George M. Reid of the same county & state of the other part - Witnesseth that the said William Craver and Ann Craver his wife for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars current money of the United States to them the said Wiliam Craver and Ann Craver his wife in hand paid by the said George M. Reid before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof they the said William Craver and Ann Craver his wife do hereby acknowledge and from every part and parcel whereof do hereby acquit exonerate and discharge the said George M. Reid his heirs executors and administrators they the same William Craver and Ann Craver have granted, bagained and sold ... ... and confirmed unto the said George M. Reid his heirs and assigns forever all that piece or parcel or part of or lot of ground lying and being in the town of Cumberland in the county and State aforesaid Known and distinguished on the plat of said town by the lot numbered two hundred and sixty nine (269) fronting on the East side of Mechanick Street reference being to the plat of said town will more fully and at-large appear beginning for the said part of lot of ground hereby bargained and sold at a stone No 269 standing on the east side of Mechanick Street and running thence with said street North fory one degrees West 33' by three feet North seventy one degreea and one half degree East three hundred and sixty six feet to the mill race then with it South four degrees East thirty three feet until it intersects a line drawn North seventy one degrees and half degree East from the beginning stone by a straight line to the beginning. Together with all and singular the buildings improvements rights liberties priviledges herditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the ... and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title and interest whatsoever of them the said William Craver & Ann Craver his wife both at law and in equity of in and out of the said part of lot piece or parcel of ground and premises thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said part of lot or parcel of ground numbered two hundred and sixty nine (269) and premised together with the buildings & improvements and all and singular other the premised hereby bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said George M Reid his heirs and assigned forever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said William Craver and Ann Craver for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said George M Reid his heirs executors administrators or assigns that the the said William Craver and Ann Craver his wife and their heirs the said part of lot or parcel of ground and premisis herby bargained and sold and every part and parcel therof with the appurtenances therunto belonging to him the said George M reid his heirs & assigns against them the said William Craver and Ann Craver his wife and their heirs and against all and every person or persons whasoever claiming or to claim any right title or interest to the same .............of them shall and will hereafter warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said William Craver & Ann Craver his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first herein before written Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of us William Craver (seal) William Durbin Ann X Craver (seal) John G Hoffman Maryland Allegany Couny SS Be it remembered that on this 22nd day of March in the year of our lord eighteen hundred and forty five personally appeared William Craver and Ann Craver his wife who are personally Known to us to be the persons who are named and discribed as and professing to be party grantor to the aforegoing deed or indenture before us the subscribed two justices of the peace in and for the county & state aforesaid and sincerely acknowledged the written deed or instrument of writing to be their act and deed and the lot and premises therein mentioned and thereby bargained and sold to be the right and estate of the within named George M. Reid party grantee his heirs and assigns forever and the said Ann Craver wife of the said William Craver did sign and seal the said deed or instrument of writing out of the presence and hearing of her said husband and being by us examined out of the presence and hearing of her said husband whether she doth execute and acknowledge the same voluntarily and freely without being induced to do so by fear or threats of or ill usage by her husband or through fear of his displeasure declareth and saith that she doth.
