He married Verlinda Beall 22 Jan 1824 in Allegany Co. -------------------------- State of Maryland Set By virtue of ten acres Part of a Common Warrant for twenty acres granted out of the Land office for the Western Shore to Edward Drake of Allegany County Bareing Date the tenth Day of February one thousand eight hundred and Nineteen I Certify as Surveyor of Allegany County that I have carefully Surveyed for and in the Name of him the Said EdwardDrake all that tract or Parcel of Land Lying and Being in Allegany County aforesaid Beginning at a Bounded white oak standing on the east side of a hill about fifteen Perches West of a Run that emties into Elk lick Branch a Draft of Evits Creek it Being a corner of a tract of Land Called fox Chase and Running thence North twenty three Degrees east fifty eight Perches North twenty eight Degrees east forty Perches North twelve Degrees West twenty three Perches South Seventy Seven Degrees West ten Perches South twenty Eight Degrees West forty Perches South twenty three Degrees West fifty eight Perches and then By a Straight Line to the Beginning Containing fourteen and a half acres to be held By the Name of good Luck if I git it Surveyd the Second Day of March one thousand eight hundred and nineteen Benj' G Vaughan Surveyor Allegany County Land Office (Unpantented Certificates) Maryland State Archives 1987 - Allegany Co. #329 "Good Luck if I get it." 1819. ---------------------------- State of Maryland Set Alpheus and David Hinkle deeded land to Edward Drake in 1820, witnessed by George P. By virtue of ten acres Part of a Common Warrant for twenty acres granted out of the Land office for the Western Shore to Edward Drake of Allegany County Baring Date the tenth Day of February one thousand eight hundred and Nineteen I Certify as Surveyor of Allegany County that I have carefully Surveyed for and in the name of him the Said EdwardDrake all that tract or Parcel of Land Lying and Being in Allegany County aforesaid Beginning at a Black Walnut Marked with four Notches it Being a corner of a tract of Land Called Fox Chase and standing on the South Side of a hill about ten Perches from Elk Lick Run a draft of Evits Creek and Near a Line Between Jeremiah Plummers Place and a Meadow called Streets Meadow and Running thence North ten Degrees east SixPerches North Sixty five Degrees West Seventeen Perches North five Degrees east forty four Perches North twenty three Degrees east twenty two Perches South Sixty one Degrees east twenty Perches North twenty three Degrres East twenty Perches North Sixty one Degrees West twenty Pe= North twenty threeDegrees east twelve Perches South fifty Nine Degrees east twenty five Perches and then By a Straight Line to the Beginning n twelve and three quarters acres to Be held By the IVame of what shall I Call it Surveyedthe Second Day of March one thousand eight hundred and Nineteen Benj g Vaughan Surveyor Of Allegany County Land Office (Unpatented Certificate) Allegany Co. #971 "What Shall I Call It." 1819 -------------------------------------- page 418 Mr. Edward Drake his patent The State of Maryland 47 acres White Oak Hollow Know ye that Whereas Edward Drake of Allegany County by his Petition to the Honorable the Chancellor did set forth that I Jerom Plummer Jun of Allegany County on the fourth Day of March seventeen hundred and ninety five had surveyed and laid out for him a tract or parcel of land Called White Oak Hollow lying in the County aforesaid and containing forty seven acres for which he fully paid the Comprosstion f?1 According to Law and has since departed this life intestate leaving the following children his heirs at Law viz Elizabeth Plummer since intermarried with Henry Perregoy George Plummer Rebecca Plummer and Christian Plu-mer That Rebecca Plummer and Christian Plummer have also departed this life intestate leaving Elizabeth Plummer who intermarried with Henry Perregoy and George Plummer the only surviving Children and heirs at law of Jerom Plummer Jun= deceased, that the said Henry Perregoy, E;iza-beth Perregoy and George Plummer had by their assignment bearing date the tenth day of September Eighteen hundred and twenty one, transferred the same to Amos Davis, who by his Assignment bearing date the twenty fourth day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty six assigned and transferred the same to the petitioner; The petitioner therefore prayed that patent might issue to him for the same, whereupon it was ordered by 419 by the Chancellor that patent should issue accordingly, The State of Mary-land doth therefore hereby grant unto him the said EdwardDrake the said tract or parcel of land Called White Oak Hollow, lying in Allegany County aforesaid Beginning at a Bounded white oak standing on the South side of then "Rockey Gap" and running thence North ten degrees East forty four perches North seventy three degrees East thirty six Perches South thirty three perches South thirty five degrees East forty two perches North forty five degrees East twenty two perches North thirty degrees East forty perches, North seventy four degrees East thirty perches to a pine, South sixty five degrees East twenty seven perches; to a spanish oak, South fifty degrees West sixty six perches, South forty degrees West one hundred and thirteen perches, to a gum, North seventy nine degrees and one half degree West ten perches, North twenty nine degrees East thirty four perches, North one degree and one half degree East twenty perches North twenty three degrees East twenty five perches, then by a straight line to the beginning, Containing forty seven acres according to the Certifcate of Survey thereof taken and returned into the Western Shore Land office bearing date the fourth day of March seventeen hundred and ninety five and there remaining together with all rights, profits, benefts and privileges thereunto belonging, To Have and To Hold the same unto him the said Edward Drake his heirs and assigns forever, Given under the great seal of The State of Maryland this fourteenth Day of February Eighteen hundred and twenty six.
