These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. _________________________________________________________________________ Land Record Abstracts for the Montgomery Family, Allegany County Maryland 1)17 April 1801- Upton Scott of Annapolis physician of the one part and Edward Montgomery of Frederick County farmer and Mary Montgomery wife to the said Edward Montgomery of the other part- all that tract of land called the "Resurvey on Kile McKey" lying in the county of Allegany in the state of Maryland (171 ½ acres) 2) 17 March 1826 - Elijah Robosson of Baltimore County in the state of Maryland farmer of the one part, and William John Montgomery of Allegany County and state aforesaid of the other part- all that part or parcel of land called "Cirsingle" lying and being in Allegany County on the waters of Old town Creek in the said state.. the use or priviledge of a private pond away from the Turnpike road across the creek to below the Turnpike bridge (comes in contact with Kile McKey and "Resurvey on Kile McKey") containing and laid out in six and one half acres of land more or less 3) 22 August 1842 - Hugh R. Montgomery and Alley his wife of Allegany County state of Maryland of the one part and Edward Montgomery Jr and Upton S.R. Montgomery of the Allegany County and state aforesaid of the other part - all his undivided Seven eighth part of the personal part of a deed of land called "Contention" Beginning for the source at the circle of the twelfth line of a tract of land called "Sugar tree Camp" it being the original "Beginning of Beaver Dam". to the end of the nineteenth line of a tract of land called the "Resurvey of Kile McKey".. then by a straight line to the beginning containing sixty three acres and three perches of one acre more or less lying and being in Allegany County and state of Maryland. 4) 12 September 1842 - Otho Wilson and Henrietta his wife of Bedford County and state of Pennsylvania of the one part and Hugh R. Montgomery of Allegany County and state of Maryland of the other part - all that tract or parcel of land situated in Allegany County aforesaid and being on the waters of Town Creek and known as part of a tract of land called "Sugar tree Camp" 5) 30 March 1848 - Fanny Montgomery of Allegany County and state of Maryland of the one part and Edward Montgomery Jr and Upton S.R. Montgomery of the aforesaid county and state of the other part - all that part or parcel of land called "Circingle" lying and being in Allegany County on the waters of Old town Creek in the said state. to the end of the twenty second line of the tract of land called the "Resurvey on Kile McKey to the twenty third line of the land called the "Resurvey on Kile McKey". to the last line of the tract of land called "Content" to the beginning containing and laid out in six and one half acres of land more or less and also all that tract or parcel of land lying in Allegany County aforesaid surveyed for William John Montgomery on the fourteenth day of September eighteen hundred and twenty. beginning in the center between a bounded oak and two bounded chestnut oaks growing from one root standing on the north side of the hollow on the northwest side of the Polish Mountain about south eighty five degrees west nine perches from a land in the turnpike road about sixty perches above Robert Slicer's cabin by side of said road and about one mile eastwardly of Edward Montgomery's dwelling house near town creek and running thence north. then by a straight line to the beginning containing thirty nine acres and forty perches to be held and now known as the tract of land called the "Poplar Spring" and also all that other tract or parcel of land called "Resurvey on Timber Ridge" surveyed for William J. Montgomery on the eleventh day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty eight lying and being in Allegany County aforesaid and contained within the following metes and bounds viz. beginning for the outlines thereof at a bounded white oak snag standing on a north west spur of the Polish Mountain and south twenty degrees east from the dwelling house of Edward Montgomery Senior being the beginning of "Timber Ridge". to between two chestnut oaks marked with six notches each to the end of the sixth line of a tract of land called "Montgomery's Valley" and reversing the lines thereof north then by a straight line to the beginning containing seventy six acres of land more or less 6) 1 March 1851 - Hugh R. Montgomery and Alley his wife of Allegany County in the state of Maryland of the one part and Edward Montgomery Jr and Upton S.R. Montgomery of the said county and state of the other part - part of a tract or parcel of ground called "Montgomery's Valley" situate and lying in Allegany County in the state aforesaid and contained within the following beginning of the "Resurvey on Kill McKey it being a bounded white oak tree standing on the point of a hill about eight perches from Town Creek on the south side thereof and about one hundred perches below the mouth of Flintstone Creek and running thence to two small white oak each marked with three notches to a bounded white oak tree standing about three perches east of Town Creek. to the end of the fourteenth line of a tract of land called "Sugar Camp" . beginning containing one hundred and ninety four acres more or less. 7) 16 May 1851 - between Hugh R. Montgomery and Alley his wife of Allegany County and state of Maryland of the one part and Jonathan H. Dicken of Allegany County and state of Maryland of the other part - all that tract or parcel of land situated in Allegany County aforesaid and lying on the Waters of Town Creek and known as a part of a tract of land called "Sugar Tree Camp". containing one hundred and six acres more or less
