Pigman, the following Deed of Manumission was recorded February 10th 1829 in the State of Maryland and Allegany County. Be it remembered that on this Seventh day of February Eighteen hundred and twenty nine personally came Beau S. Pigman party to this instrument of writing before me to subscribe one of the duties of the peace of the State of Maryland and aforesaid county and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed and this negro boy ( crossed out two words) Lewis to be discharged and manumitted from all slavery on this said 1st day of September Eighteen hundred and fifty one. Acknowledged before Jno M ONeale This instrument of writing made by Beau S Pigman of Allegany County State of Maryland. Witnesseth that the said Beau S Pigman from benevolence and Kindess to his little negro boy Lewis about 4 years on or about the first day of September eighteen hundred and twenty eight doth manumit and set free the said negro boy Lewis to be free and discharged from slavery on the first day of September which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one in which the said negro boy Lewis will be about the age of twenty six years As witness my hand and seal this seventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one. signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Jno McNeale Signed B.L.
