This indenture made this twenty second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and fifty four between FREDERICK VALENTINE OF FREDERICK of Allegany County in the State of Maryland and Henry Valentine of the same county and State of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars current money by the said HENRY VALENTINE to the said FREDERICK VALENTINE OF FRED. in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which he do hereby acknowledge the said FREDERICK VALENTINE OF FREDERICK bargained sold aliened and enfeoffed and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff release convey And confirm unto the said Henry Valentine the following piece of land lying and being in Allegany County aforesaid part of a tract of land called “PALED GARDEN” resurveyed for Frederick Valentine of Frederick the first day of May eighteen hundred and twenty six Beginning for the outlines at a Stone standing at the end of fifty six perches on the seventh line of the whole tract called “Paled Garden” and running thence North Forty two degrees East fourteen perches North seventy two and three fourth degrees West fifteen and one half perches to a locust Stump South twenty two degrees West eight perches then by a straight line to the beginning containing seven eighths of an acre more or less Together with all and singular the buildings improvements ways waters water courses rights members privileges advantages and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining and all estate rights title and interest trust property claim and demand whatsoever at law and in equity of him the said Frederick Valentine of Frederick of in and to the same To Have and To Hold the said land and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Henry Valentine his heirs and assigns forever and also has he the said Frederick Valentine of Frederick his heirs and assigns the said land and premises above described and herein mentioned to be granted bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Valentine his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents against the claims of all persons whomever in testimony whereof the said Frederick Valentine has hereunto set his hand and seal on the day and year first above written. Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on the 22nd day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County of Allegany aforesaid personally appear Frederick Valentine known to me to be the person herein named and described as and professing to be the party to the foregoing deed or indenture and do severally acknowledge the said indenture or instrument of writing to be his respective act and deed day and year aforesaid.
