These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. _________________________________________________________________________ Daniel Valentine from Frederick Valentine - Maryland State Archives – Deed, Book 26, page 519, year 1867 Microfilm 6734 At the request of DANIEL VALENTINE this Deed was recorded November 29th 1867 This deed made this twenty ninth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven by FREDERICK VALENTINE of Allegany County State of Maryland Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars I the said Frederick Valentine do grant unto Daniel Valentine the following described real estate ?sihealed in Allegany County State of Maryland to wit Part of a tract of land called “PALED GARDEN” Beginning for the out lines at a chestnut oak tree blazed on four sides standing on the top of a ridge near the Pennsylvania line also at the ends of the 13th line of the whole tract called “PALED GARDENS” and running with the top of said ridge and with part of said 13th line reversed South thirty four and a half degrees. West 69 ½ perches to a small bounded hickory sapling North 25 degrees West 66 perches to a small Chestnut oak Sapling marked with 9 notches to the beginning containing twelve and one half acres more or less. And I also grant unto Daniel Valentine the privilege of having an open road leading from the said premises along the foot of the ridge to intersect the little Valley made near the bridge over Pea Vine Run To Have and to Hold forever Witness my hand and seal Frederick (his X mark) Valentine Attest JM Strong A F Cranien I hereby certify that on the 29th day of November 1867 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland and in and for Allegany County personally appeared Frederick Valentine and acknowledged the aforegoing deed to be his act J M Strong J.P.
