These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. _________________________________________________________________________ Daniel Valentine to Sarah Valentine - Maryland State Archives - Deed, Book 56, Page 233, Year 1881 Microfilm CR 6751-2 At the request of SARAH VALENTINE this deed was recorded April 23 1881 @ 9:36 AM This deed made this 19th day of April in the year eighteen hundred and eighty one by Daniel Valentine of Allegany County Maryland Witnesseth that in consideration of two hundred and seventy five dollars the DANIEL VALENTINE doth grant in fee simple to SARAH VALENTINE of Allegany County Maryland all part of a tract of land called "PALED GARDEN" lying and contained within the following metes and bounds courses and distances to wit. Beginning at a chestnut oak tree blazed on four sides standing on the top of a ridge near the Pennsylvania line and at the end of the 13th line of the whole tract and running with the top of said ridge and with part of said 13th line reversed. South 34 ½ degrees West 69 ½ perches to a small bounded hickory sapling. Then North 25 degrees West 66 perches to a small chestnut oak sapling marked with nine notches standing near the Pennsylvania line. Then with said line cast to the beginning containing 12 ½ acres more or less being the same part of said tract of land which was conveyed to the said DANIEL VALENTINE by FREDERICK VALENTINE by deed bearing date on the 29 day of November 1864 and recorded in Liber & R No 26 folio 519 &c one of the Land Records of said Allegany County Maryland And the said Daniel Valentine covenants that he will warrant specially to the property hereby conveyed Witness my hand and seal Daniel Valentine Witness J B Widener State of Maryland Allegany County to wit I hereby certify that on this 19th day of April in the year eighteen hundred and eighty one before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Allegany County personally appeared Daniel Valentine and acknowledged the a foregoing deed to be his act.
