Rice Deed filed and Recorded October 12th 1892 @ 4:50 PM This deed made the 17th day of September in the year Eighteen hundred and Ninety Eight by and between SARAH VALENTINE and EMANUEL VALENTINE her husband, ANDREW M. RICE and SARAH E RICE his wife, HANNAH B RING and CHARLES S. RING her husband, and MARTHA RICE all of Allegany County Maryland. CHRISTINE DEVORE and ROBERT DEVORE her husband of Bedford County Pennsylvania, SUSANNAH VALENTINE and SOLOMON VALENTINE her husband, BENJAMIN W. RICE and FLORENCE RICE his wife. EDWARD J. RICE and M. RICE his wife of Allegheny County Pennsylvania and CHARLES S. RICE and ADELLA RICE his wife of Tipton County in the State of Indiana parties of the first part and JOHN F. RICE of Allegany County Maryland party of the second part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Six hundred and seventy five dollars lawful money of the United States of America real and truly paid by the said party of the second part to the parties of the first part the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged the said parties of the first part have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey onto the said JOHN F. RICE All their undivided interest in and to the following property. First: All that part of a certain tract of land called "HIGH GERMANY" situate, lying and being in Allegany County Maryland and which is contained within the following courses distances metes and bounds, that is to say - Beginning for that part of the tract of land called "High Germany" at a bounded chestnut oak standing on the South side of a Hollow about sixty perches above Christopher Brod?en?les spring it being a corner of a part of said tract of land called "High Germany" sold to and laid off for JACOB HEIBLETZELL and scri?ing chance? with said part North twenty degrees West one hundred and thirty four perches to JOHN J. SEISS’ line then North thirty six degrees East thirty perches South fifty five degrees East three perches to a hickory and white oak bush Inscribed?sted with three notches each, North thirty five degrees East fifty four perches to a White oak with nine notches then South seventy four degrees East one hundred and twelve perches to a stones slanding in a pile of stones at the end of the second line of part of "High Germany" heretofore conveyed to HENRY DENNISS? by deed dated the third day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and eighteen then with the third and fourth lines thereof South twenty seven degrees West one hundred and forty seven perches South forty five degrees West fifty seven perches and there by a straight line to the beginning Containing One hundred and eight and one half acres of land. It being the same property which is fully described in a certain deed from THOMAS BEALL of SAM’L to GEORGE BRANT having date the 4th day of September A.D. 1823 and recorded in Liber A. B. No M folio 227 &C one of the Land Records of Allegany County. Second: All that other piece and parcel of land lying and being in said County and State and being a part of a piece of that parcel of land conveyed by JACOB HOBLITZELL to JOHN VALENTINE of FREDERICK by deed being dated the 17th day of June AD 1826 being part of a tract of land called "High Germany" Beginning for said piece and parcel of land at a stone inscribed "IV" standing at the e?d of eight and a half perches. North forty two and one half degrees West from GEORGE BRANT’s dwelling house and running? thence with said eighth line North twenty degrees West seventy four perches to the end of said line then with the ninth line of said piece South thirty six degrees West forty two perches to the lane and up with said Lane South thirty four degrees East thirty two perches South fifty two degrees East thirty six perches. South seven degrees East fifty two perches then by a straight line to the beginning. Containing twelve acres more or less and being the same property which is fully described in a deed from JOHN VALENTINE of FREDERICK to GEORGE BRANT having date the 14th day of March 1840 and recorded in Liber A.B. No A.A. folios 445&c one of the Land Records of Allegany County. Excepting however from the operations of this deed the amount of twenty seven acres of the hereinbefore described property which was conveyed by the said GEORGE BRANT and wife to JAMES ELLIOTT by deed dated December 27 1852 and recorded in Liber H.R No 9 folio 196 one of the Land Records of Allegany County. The foregoing property hereby conveyed being the same which was devised to the parties hereto by the last will and testament of SUSANNAH BRANT leaving/being date the 24th day of October 1894 and recorded in the office of Register of Wills for Allegany County.
