April 24, 1919 LONACONING MEMORIAL SERVICE CITIZENS TO HOLD SERVICE IN MEMORY OF BOYS WHO GAVE LIFE FOR COUNTRY IN GREAT WAR---ROLL OF HONOR COMPLETED. LONACONING, April 23--- Arrangements have been completed for the memorial service for men of this community who lost their lives in the war and who died in the camps, to be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Firemen's Armory. A parade will form on Jackson street at 1:30 o'clock of all soldiers and marines in uniform in command of Ensign Jos. Morgan, U.S. Naval air forces; also the old veterans, G.A.R. and veterans of the Spanish American War, in automobiles headed by the Lonaconing City Band. The line of march will be from Jackson street square to East Main Street to the Armory. Lonaconing is proud both of the number she sent to the war and of the personnel. Nearly five hundred left here to battle for liberty and 21 of this number have made the supreme sacrifice. There is no doubt that Lonaconing's ratio is the highest in the United States from a population between five and six thousand. A special request of the committee that the family and friends of those who died will be present; as seats will be reserved for them.
