BOOR 07 Jan 1883 Mr Jacob Boor, about 70 years of age, died at his house at Bottle Run on Thursday (3 Jan). He was the father-in-law of Mr Joseph White of this city and was a well known older citizen of this county. GRUBER 09 Jan 1883 Mr Conrad Zimmerman, executor of the will is offering for sale at the late residence on N Centre Street and Little Valley Road, the household effects of Mathias Gruber deceased. HAST 03 Jan 1883 On Monday (1 Jan), Mrs Christiana Hast died in her 70th year at the residence of a son, Henry hast on the corner of Bedford & N Centre Streets. She was a consistent member of the German Lutheran Church. HOBLITZEL 07 Jan 1883 Mr PW Hoblitzel, and employee of the Atlantic & Pacific RR, died at Gallup NM on Christmas night. A former resident, hi is the brother of Hon Fetter S Hoblitzel and of Mr Oliver Hoblitzel, superintendent of the Baltimore Elevator Co. He was 38 years old and leaves a wife and 2 children at Gallup NM. KELLER 03 Jan 1883 Miss Ida J Keller, an assistant in Frostburg schools, died yesterday following a short illness. The Frostburg schools will be closed today in respect to her memory. WHALLEY 05 Jan 1883 James Whaley was gored to death by a bull on his father's farm in WV, 2 miles below Cumberland. The body was found on Wednesday (3 Jan) cold and stiff with a large hole where the horn of the bull entered and severed the jugular vein. He was the son of John Whalley who is employed at the rolling mill and he was 18 years old. The body was brought to the family home in Cumberland and the animal was shot by one of the brothers yesterday.
