ARCHITECTURE OF CUMBERLAND 25 Sep 1915 Photos and descriptions of homes in the Cumberland area that reflect architectural principles: the Reinhart home on S Lee Street; the Shriver home in the Dingle; Dr White’s home on Baltimore Avenue; the Muncaster home on Washington Street; the Buchannan home at Narrows Park; the Speery home on Old Camp Hill and the Mullaney home overlooking Baltimore Street. BAKER 23 Sep 1915 Sarah L Baker, 16 month daughter of Mr & Mrs Christopher Baker, died this morning at the home, 2 Haley Street. BEFT 25 Sep 1915 Mrs Margaret Beft, 40 years of age, died today at home at Churchill, Mt Savage, following a 1 year illness. Her husband and 3 sons: Francis, William, and Randolph survive. Also, her parents, Mr & Mrs William Burrell; sisters, Mrs Charles Church; Mrs Albert Ellis, and Miss Leona Burrell; and brothers, John and George Burrell. BLUE SPRING LOG HOUSE 16 Sep 1915 The Blue Spring Log House, occupied by Henry Himmler for years and the oldest structure in Cumberland, was sold today by public sale by Mrs Mary Himmler. It is situated on Mechanic Street above the Blue Spring and was used as the first postal office by Samuel Smith in 1807, when stage coaches delivered the mail using this thoroughfare. Built of massive logs and generously chinked, it is believed to be 225 years old and still in fair condition. The wooden pins are hand made and still intact. This building was marked as an historic place by the Twentieth Century Club some 20 years ago. The building will be torn down and brick homes erected on the site. BOLINGER 14 Sep 1915 Mrs Mary Bolinger, aged 74 years, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs Charles Rice of Calla Hill, Mt Savage, due to dropsy. She was first married to John Black. She is survived by 2 daughters: Mrs John Martin and Mrs Charles Rice, both of Mt Savage; and 4 sons, Mack Black of Allegany PA; and Vaster, Newton, and Edward Black of Broad Top, Bedford Co PA. Funeral services at the Broad Top M E Church. BRITT 16 Sep 1915 Mrs Elizabeth Britt, aged 92 years, died yesterday at the home of daughter, Mrs Edward Dietrich, 370 N Centre Street. Two sons, also survive, Charles and Frank Britt. BRITT 17 Sep 1915 Mrs Elizabeth Britt died Wednesday (15 Sep) at the home of a daughter, Mrs Edward Dietrich, 370 N Center Street. Services are from the home and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. BRODE 07 Sep 1915 Mrs Barbara Brode, aged 49 years, wife of Conrad Brode, died of heart disease at her home, after a 2 year illness. Born at Meyersdale PA, she was a resident of Frostburg for 40 years. Beside her husband, 4 daughters: Mrs William Hartman; Mrs George; Mrs Alex Close; and Mrs Ellsworth Myers. The funeral services and funeral to take place in Meyersdale PA. BRODE 09 Sep 1915 Mrs Barbara Brode, wife of Conrad Brode, died at her home on Mechanic Street, Frostburg on Tuesday (7 Sep). Interment was in Allegany Cemetery. BUCY 07 Sep 1915 Mrs Mary Ann Bucy, aged 84 years, widow of Hanson Bucy, died last night at her home on Iron Mountain following a lingering illness. She is survived by these children: Mrs Sarah Sinn of North Branch; Mrs Martha Stafford; Mrs Fannie Robinette; and Miss Rebecca Bucy, at home; and Jerry Bucy. The funeral is from the home and burial in the family burying ground on Iron Mountain. BUSH 01 Sep 1915 Margaret Bush, the 3 month old daughter of Mr & Mrs William Bush of Robert Street, died last night. Funeral and burial are at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church. CORFIELD 01 Sep 1915 Oscar Cordield, aged 32 years, died today at his home on Valley Street. He is a native of Lonaconing, moving to Cumberland only 3 years ago to open the Corfield Café on N Mechanic Street. His parents, Mr & Mrs William Corfield of Lonaconing, his wife, the former Miss Julia Barber Marx, daughter of Mr & Mrs Louis Marx of Lonaconing, now of Cumberland and the following brothers and sisters survive: James and Samuel, both of Cumberland; Mrs Sanson Patterson of McKeesport; Mrs George Hines of Piedmont; Mrs Charles Baker of Mt Savage; Mrs William Monroe and Mrs James Marshall of Lonaconing; and Mrs James Peebles of Cumberland. The body will be conveyed to Lonaconing for services from the home of his parents and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Rev H L Earnst officiating. COUGHENOUR 09 Sep 1915 Henry A Coughenour, 1 year old infant of Mr & Mrs Henry J Coughenour of 13 Lamont Street, died yesterday after a brief illness. Burial will be made in German Lutheran Cemetery. CROWE 21 Sep 1915 Thomas Crowe, 7 months adopted son of Mr & Mrs John Crowe of Eckhart, died last Saturday (18 Sep). The child’s mother, Mrs Ernest Weiley died at Meyersdale last May and was a sister of Mrs Crowe. Services by Rev J A Grose and burial in Eckhart Cemetery. CUMBERLAND ROLLER SKATING 28 Sep 1915 A roller skating rink was opened by B L & M Amusements in the Old Arbutus Hall on the top floor in the Queen City Garage, 79 Union Street. Kaplon’s 4-piece orchestra will play. [Article has 7 paragraphs] CUMBERLAND BEER 17 Sep 1915 The Bartholomew Himmler brewery site, opposite the Wellington Glass Plant, which has not operated for 10 years, will be sold at public auction and divided into a number of lots. This property once marked the northern limit of Cumberland. The product "common beer" , a favorite of German residents, was brewed in wide open vats, but the introduction of "lager" caused its demise. The plant was operated in later years by Henry Zink and for a short time, by Peter Sinclair. DAVIES 21 Sep 1915 Former sheriff, L O Davies, died last night at his home in Keyser WV from an abcess of the shoulder that punctured his lung. He was 55 years of age and the captain of police at the WV Division of the Western Maryland RR. A wife, 3 sons and 1 daughter, all of Keyser survive: George R Davies, Donald P Davies, Payne J Davies, and Miss Irene Davies, at home. Burial is in Queens Point Cemetery, Keyser. DEAN 28 Sep 1915 Mrs Catherine Dean, aged 70 years, died at the home of Robert Huston on Ormond Street, Frostburg yesterday. She was the last of 11 children and her maiden name was Catherine Kirby. She was of a quiet disposition and was on the streets just a few times in the past 50 years. The funeral is from the home and burial at Allegany Cemetery, Rev John H Bickford officiating. DIBACCO 30 Sep 1915 Lillian DiBacco, 1 year old daughter of Mr & Mrs Joseph DiBacco of N Center Street, died yesterday in Allegany Hospital of cholera morbus. The funeral is at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. ESCHENBACHER 03 Sep 1915 Mrs Anna Margaret Eschenbacher, aged 74 years, wife of the late Albert Eschenbacher, died last night at her home, 142 Walnut Street. She is survived by these children: Mrs George White; Mrs Michael Minke; Mrs James may; and John Eschenbacher. Funeral services at St Luke’s Lutheran Church and burial in the German Lutheran Cemetery, with Rev C F Bergener. FISHER 09 Sep 1915 Charles J Fisher, aged 77 years, a farmer, died yesterday at Spring Gap form typhoid. His wife and these children survive: Mrs Mamie Davis of Spring Gap; E A Fisher of Virginia Avenue, Cumberland; Mrs C R McDonnan of Montreal, Canada; and George Fisher of Salt Lake City UT. A brother, Conrad Fisher of Keyser WV also survives. The funeral is from the home with Rev Abogast and burial in the family burying ground near the residence. FISHER 10 Sep 1915 Carroll Philip Fisher, 10 months old son of Charles & Catherine Fisher, died at the residence 32 Maryland Avenue. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. GILLMORE 15 Sep 1915 Mr T A Gillmore, who died at Albuquerque NM on Saturday (Sep 11) had his funeral from the home of his mother on Mineral Street, Keyser, and services were at the Catholic Church with burial in Westernport. GLOVER 13 Sep 1915 Mrs Margaret Glover, former resident of Cumberland and the wife of Lt John Glover, died yesterday at her home in Meyersdale after a prolonged illness. Her sister, Mrs Carl B Sidend died last week. Beside her husband, she is survived by 3 daughters: Mrs Carven Folk of Akron OH; Mrs Charles Wilhelm of Meyersdale; and Mrs A M Tabler of Cumberland. GRANT 21 Sep 1915 James S Grant, aged 83 years, died at Western Maryland Hospital today following an illness since Friday. He was born at Glasswater, Scotland on 31 Jul 1832, came to America in 1870, locating first at Barton and moving to Hancock after one year. He served as superintendent of Round Top Cement Co for nine years, moved to Cumberland to operate the Cumberland Hydraulic Cement Co for 10 years and built the Pinto Cement Plant and stayed for 5 years. He is survived by his wife, one brother and 2 sisters: John F Grant of Vancouver BC; Mrs F O Spain of Gainesville FL and Mrs F G Crane of Michigan; and these children: Mrs Charles F Fries and Albert Grant of Cumberland; and a daughter, the late, Elizabeth, the wife of John B McFarlane; and a son, the late Dr James Grant. The funeral is from the home 121 Bedford Street with services at First Presbyterian Church and burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, with Rev James E Moffatt officiating. [Article has 5 paragraphs] HALE 07 Sep 1915 Carl C Hale, aged 27 years, of Landover MD, a son of Patrolman Charles W Goss of Maryland Avenue, Cumberland died on Sunday (5 Sep) and his remains were brought here and burial in German Lutheran Cemetery, Rev Martin L Enders, officiating. HARRIS 16 Sep 1915 Mrs Jonathan Harris, wife of Edward Harris, died yesterday at her home, 30 South Street following a brief illness. Besides her husband, these children survive: Edward Harris Jr of Wheeling WV; George Harris of Cumberland; Frank Harris of Mt Vernon PA; Henry Harris of Mt Vernon PA; and Miss Adelia Harris at home. HITESHEW 21 Sep 1915 Mrs Virginia Louise Hiteshew, aged 78 years, widow of James M Hiteshew, a veteran soldier, died at her home 40 Wine Street, after an illness of seven weeks. These sons and daughters survive: Mrs Charles Hager; Miss Laura Hiteshew, and Ward W Hiteshew of Cumberland; and W T Hiteshew of Columbus OH. Also, 18 grand children and 9 great grand children. The funeral is at the Emanuel Episcopal Church and burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery. HOWE 17 Sep 1915 Thomas Howe, aged 50 years, drank carbolic acid and cut his throat with a razor after cutting the throat of his 4 year old son, Charles. Both were found dead by eldest son, George Howe as he returned home from work at WV Junction ,near Piedmont. Thomas Howe’s wife died a year ago and the effects of a blow received in the mines, are thought to result in a mental breakdown, causing the tragedy. He was a regular miner at the Beryl Mines of the Davis Coal & Coke Company. Besides George, aged 22 years, another son Ralph, aged 6 years; and 2 married daughters survive. HUSEY 25 Sep 1915 Mrs Hattie Ellen Husey, aged 55 years, wife of John Husey, died last night at her home, 204 W Third Street after a illness of 3 months. Her husband and daughter, Miss Amanda Husey at home, survive. The funeral is from the home and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev David G Pyles. JACOBS 17 Sep 1915 Mrs Mary Jacobs, aged 28 years, ill for the past 2 years, died yesterday at the home of her mother, Mrs Thomas Richardson, 52 Linden Street, Frostburg. She is survived by her husband, her mother, a son Leroy, and these brothers and sisters: Jacob and Thomas Richardson; Mrs Hilary Lancaster of Eckhart; Mrs W T Lewis of Winchester Bridge; and Mrs Benjamin Yates of Fayette City PA. The funeral is from the home and burial at Allegany Cemetery with Rev John H Bickford. JAY 04 Sep 1915 Mrs Lucinda Jay was instantly killed by a B & O train near Bedford. She had walked from the home of her daughter Mrs Cleveland Price at Chalybatesville to the station at Cliffs to take the train to Everett and was caught attempting to cross the tracks. Mrs Jay was raised in Beans Cove and her maiden name was Leasure. JOHNSON 16 Sep 1915 Mary Izolu Johnson, infant daughter of Mr & Mrs T H Johnson of 25 Grand Avenue, died Tuesday (14 Sep) . The funeral services are at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church. KENNEY 10 Sep 1915 James Kenney, aged 75 years, died at the DeHaven Hotel, Mt Savage today following a prolonged illness of Bright’s Disease. His body will be held at the Stein Mortuary pending notification of ralatives. KERNS 16 Sep 1915 Mrs George Kerns, 41 years of age, died at Miners Hospital, Frostburg on Tuesday (14 Sep) from bronchial problems suffered since April. Her husband and mother, Mrs Mary Humbertson; and a brother, Edward C Humbertson of Elk Lick PA also survive. The funeral is from the St Paul Lutheran Church and burial at Percy Cemetery with Rev Harry Berdelman. KLINE 17 Sep 1915 Hyman Kline was killed on Wednesday (15 Sep) on Frost Avenue in an auto accident where he was ejected from the vehicle and his head was crushed. This was his second outing with the new vehicle and it is thought that he became excited and turned the wheels the wrong way causing his ejection. Services were conducted at the Hebrew Synagogue in Frostburg and burial in the Hebrew Cemetery on the Baltimore Pike in Cumberland. LANHAM 02 Sep 1915 Alice Elizabeth Lanham, 7 month old daughter of Mr & Mrs Robert Lanham of 198 N Center Street, died at home last night following a protracted illness. Funeral is tomorrow with Rev J L Ward and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. LAYTON 09 Sep 1915 Mr Cabel Layton, aged 45 years, died Wednesday (8 Sep) at Miner Hospital in Frostburg, of heart trouble. A wife and 2 children survive at Vale Summit. This family came here from WV three years ago. McGHAN 02 Sep 1915 Charles H McGhan, aged 52 years, conductor on the T M & P Railroad, died suddenly of acute indigestion on his trip home to Keyser after leaving Twin Mountain. Besides his wife, 2 daughters survive: Helen and Anna McGhan; also, brothers, John of Toledo and Frank of Chicago. Services with Mass at the Church of the Assumption and burial in the Church Cemetery. McNABB 15 Sep 1915 Mrs Sadie McNabb, wife of John McNabb of St Cloud Street, Keyser, died yesterday at her home of a disease lasting over one month. Her husband and a son of a previous marriage survive. Services by Rev Lanier and burial at Queen’s Point Cemetery. MEYERS 17 Sep 1915 John Lucien Meyers, aged 40 years, of 140 Race Street, was injured in a B & O RR accident at Terra Alta yesterday where he is employed as a freight conductor. He was thrown from the train and received a mashed foot, badly lacerated leg, and cuts and bruises about the face and head. He was brought to Western Maryland Hospital and his leg was amputated in an attempt to save his life, but it was of no avail. He is survived by his wife and 2 small children. Services are at Grace M E Church and burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. MOAT 25 Sep 1915 O J Moat, formerly of Frostburg, now of Washington DC, died last week at the home of a brother, Rev Dr Moat at Philadelphia. He married Miss Miller of Hyattsville, who survives. She is a sister fo the car motorman between Frostburg and Cumberland, W G S Miller. A civil war veteran, he served under General Forrest in the 4th Tenn Cav, Troop I that was commanded by Baxter Smith. Interment is in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia. MOORE 17 Sep 1915 Alice Moore, 4 year old daughter of Mr & Mrs Edward Moore of 403 Grand Avenue was accidently shot and killed last night at the home of John J McNamee by their 4 year old son Anthony McNamee while playing upstairs in the bedroom. The gun was hidden away in a night-stand. Mr Moore is a B & O RR conductor. The funeral is from the home and burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery. NEE 07 Sep 1915 John S Nee, aged 56 years, died Sunday (5 Sep) at his home 28 N Centre Street following a lingering illness. He was a passenger train conductor of the Western Maryland RR for 26 years. Married twice, his first wife was Miss Mary Brockey and his second wife, who survives is Miss Lucy O’Donnell. Besides his wife, a brother, James A Nee; and his children: Mrs Thomas H Dawson; Mrs Robert E Fay; and Misses Helen and Catherine; and John R and Robert Nee are at home. The funeral and burial is at St Peter & Paul Catholic Church. NIXON 25 Sep 1915 Harrison Nixon, aged 53 years, a farmer of Oldtown, died at his home following a prolonged illness. His wife and these children survive: J E Nixon and Mrs J K Snyder, both of Hagerstown. The funeral is tomorrow at the home and burial in the family grave yard. NOONAN 25 Sep 1915 John Noonan, 15 month old son of Mr & Mrs John Noonan, died Thursday (23 Sep) at the home, 10 Frederick Street. The funeral and burial is at St Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Cemetery. NORTON 25 Sep 1915 Joseph T Norton, died Monday (23 Sep) at Paw Paw. The funeral is from the St Charles Catholic Church with Father Theodosia celebrating a high Requiem Mass. His parents, Mr & Mrs T H C Norton and brothers and sisters surviving: Mrs H L McDonald and Miss Margaret Norton of Paw Paw; Louise Norton of Baltimore; Mrs Edgar R Thorne of Jackson MI; and Harvey and Gale Norton of Paw Paw. OFTEN 28 Sep 1915 Miss Martha Often left Sunday for Baltimore where she has accepted a position and was given a farewell party by her parents, Mr & Mrs Patrick Often at their home in Eckhart. Attending were: Misses Anna, Regina, and Elizabeth Kreitzburg; Maude Kirby, Alice Crowe, and Isabel Blank, of Mt Savage; Hazel Kreitzburg, Viola Porter, Mrs Dickel, Minnie Schneider, and Jennie Williams of Frostburg; Miss Margaret O’Brien of Baltimore; and Messers, William Kreitzburg, William and Albert Rice, Kirk Hansel, and Joseph Carter of Mt Savage; Anthony Keafer of Frostburg; and George Often and Mrs Theresa Kreitzburg of Eckhart. A supper was served and games and music was played. PARTLOW 27 Sep 1915 Cards are out announcing the marriage of Miss Pema Mary Shertzer of Vale Summit, daughter of Mr & Mrs John Shertzer and Thomas W Partlow of Washington PA at the St Michael’s Church on Thursday 30 Sept. Mr Partlow is a telegraph operator for the George Creek & Cumberland RR at Vale Summit. PHENNECIE 17 Sep 1915 Gladness May Phennecie, aged 7 years, daughter of Mr & Mrs Frank Phennecie of Garrett PA, died at Western Maryland Hospital following an operation. Services and burial in Garrett PA. POLLOCK 18 Sep 1915 Mrs James Pollock, 72, of Borden Shaft was awarded $9.00 weekly for 7 years as the widow by the State Industrial Accident Commission. RASE 28 Sep 1915 Miss Edna Rase leaves Sunday to study piano and violin at Peabody Institute of Music at Baltimore under Prof Van Hulsteyn. ROBINSON 08 Sep 1915 Mrs Mary Robinson, aged 68 years, wife of Joshua Robinson, died yesterday at her home in Cresaptown after a brief illness. Besides her husband, 8 children survive: Solomon Robinson of Patterson Creek; Samuel J Robinson of Eckart Mines: Mrs Albert McKenzie of Cresaptown; Misses Mary and Sarah Robinson at home; and Fred, Arthur, and William Robinson at home. The services will be from St Ambrose Catholic Church in Cresaptown. PERDEW 09 Sep 1915 Prof. George M Perdew, aged 69 years, died today at his home on Chase Street of ulceration of the stomach. A native of Bean’s Cove, he served Allegany County schools for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Perdew; 3 daughters, Mrs F G Cowherd of Rock Hill SC; Mrs H S Hayward of Cumberland; and Miss Mary Perdew of Cumberland; and 2 sons, Prof. Arch G Pewdew, principal of Luke School; and Jerome S Perdew of Pittsburgh. He was the son of Archibald Perdew, of the pioneer family of Bean’s Cove and also survived by these brothers and sisters: Mrs Rebecca Bennett; Mrs Alice O’Neal of Cumberland; Mrs Sarah Robinson of Purcell PA; Neri Pewdew and William Perdew , both of Portland OR. The funeral is from his home and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, with Rev William M Tinker. ROSENMERKLE 02 Sep 1915 A daughter was born yesterday to Mrs C Rosenmerkle of Columbia Avenue. The father was killed 2 months ago by the fall of an organ he was erecting in Baltimore. SCHAEFER 21 Sep 1915 Mrs Caroline Schaefer, aged 76 years, died this morning at her home, 347 N Centre Street. A daughter, Mrs Carrie Gabler survives. The funeral is at St Luke’s Lutheran Church with burial in the German Lutheran Cemetery. SCHOMPERT 24 Sep 1915 Charles Schompert, an air inspector for Consolidation Coal Co, died last night at his home in Midland. He was ill with quinsy and had his tonsils removed this week and typhoid fever developed. He was the catcher for the Midland baseball team, missing most of this year due to illness. Surviving are his parents, Mr & Mrs George Schompert and these brothers and sisters: George Schompert of Midland; John Schompert of Pittsburgh; and James Schompert of Frostburg; and Mrs John Scharer, Mrs Frank Beveridge, and Misses Cathleen and Laverne Schompert, all of Midland. The funeral is from the home with Rev W E Bird and burial at Allegany Cemetery of Frostburg. SCREEN 30 Sep 1915 John Screen died Tuesday (28 Sep) at home on Douglass Avenue, Lonaconing of Bright’s disease. He was the son of Mr & Mrs Francis Screen and was born in England in 1863, coming to this country with his parents while still quite young. He was once a coal miner and for the past 23 years, engaged in the mercantile business in the Lonaconing Co-Operative, under the management of Henry Atkinson. His widow, a daughter of the late Elijah Gould, and four grown children survive: Mrs David Mateer of Cumberland; and Misses Elizabeth and Ruth Screen and Gould Screen, at home. Also, brothers, Joseph of Watercliffe and Francis Screen Jr of Cumberland; and a sister, Mrs Robert Morgan of Cumberland. The funeral is from the home with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Rev Thomas Wheeler. SHAFFER 17 Sep 1915 Spencer Shaffer, 16 years of age, from Artemas PA, a son of Mr & Mrs William Shaffer of Artemas, was found dead yesterday by a scouting party after he failed to return from hunting. It is thought theat he stumbled and fell and the gun went off striking him in the side, where he died from the loss of blood. SHUCK 02 Sep 1915 Harvey Wilson Shuck, 69 years of age, register of wills for Allegany County, died today at his home, 69 Bedford Street following a 2 month illness. He was born in Cumberland on Dec 19, 1845, a son of the late Mr & Mrs Jacob Shuck, an early settler of Cumberland. His mother died in 1888, and his father in 1900. He married Miss Idabell Mason on December 14, 1892, who survives with 2 sons, Harvey W Shuck Jr, 22 years of age; and Sherman Shuck, 18 years of age. These brothers and sisters: James W Shuck of McKees Rocks PA; George C Shuck of Cumberland; Mrs Harriett Jordan of Cumberland; and Mrs Margaret Trussell of Baltimore; and a foster brother, Richard Ball of Cumberland. SIZER 18 Sep 1915 Robert Miller Sizer, aged 2 years, son of Mr & Mrs Robert Miller Sizer, died last night from obstruction of the bowels at his home, 26 Water Street. STRIDE 25 Sep 1915 Edna Stride, 3 month old daughter of Mr & Mrs Clyde Stride, died on a C & O Canal boat enroute to Cumberland following a short illness. Mr Stride is in charge of the boat. Burial will be in Shepherdstown WV. STROMENGER 02 Sep 1915 Paul Stromenger, infant son of Mr & Mrs Harry Stromenger of Valley Street died yesterday. Burial services are at St Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Cemetery. TAYLOR 25 Sep 1915 Mrs Effie Taylor, who died Thursday (23 Sep) at Greenspring WV, was buried at Springfield WV this morning. WADDELL 17 Sep 1915 Walter W Waddell, a 1 year old son of Mr & Mrs John Waddell, died yesterday at his home 6 Cedar Street. The funeral and burial is at St Patrick’s Catholic Church and Cemetery. WAGNER 16 Sep 1915 Mrs Mary Wagner, aged 80 years, died at her home, 132 Madison Street after a brief illness. She was a Miss Mary Scharp before marrying the late George F Wagner. She operated a small dairy in N Cumberland for 35 years. Two children survive: George F Wagner of Columbia Avenue and Miss Margaret Wagner, at home. Funeral services are from Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church. WAGNER 17 Sep 1915 Mrs Mary F Wagner, 80 years of age, died yesterday at her home, 132 Madison Street. Services are at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church with a Mass by Rev Marcellus, and burial in their cemetery. WIELAND 07 Sep 1915 Fred Wieland, aged 61 years, died last night at Allegany Hospital from paralysis. He is survived by a wife and one brother. The funeral is from the Butler Chapel and burial in the German Lutheran Cemetery. WINEBRENNER 17 Sep 1915 Mrs Jessie Ida Winebrenner, aged 43 years, died yesterday at her home in Corrigansville after a 8 week illness. Her husband Jesse Winebrenner and 3 children: Robert, Loretta, and Thelma, all at home, survive.
