In wet weather a stream of water runs down the road, and it has washed out sections of it here and there. When the gas men laid pipe under this road they piled the stones dug out in heaps along both sides of the road. The next heavy rain made a mill race of the road and scattered the rocks all over it. At present it is practically impassible in places. The road directors might look at this piece of the road and do something with it. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Price returned from Youngstown, O., Monday. At Borden Shaft Dennis Elifritt is building a five room residence. The foundation is laid and the carpenters started on the frame today. Mrs. William McMillan, who is 76, is very feeble. Mrs. Wm. McMillan, Jr., and son returned Sunday from Turtle Creek, where they were visiting relatives. Mr. Zidik is putting in concrete steps and walks at his residence. Rev. Langham, of the M.E. Church, went to Rawlings Station Monday to bring home Mrs. Langham, who has been visiting there. Mr. Dennis Elifritt was in Lonaconing Tuesday on business. Grant, of Midland, met with a painful accident yesterday morning. The wind slammed a door shut, catching her hand and crushing the fingers severly. Miss Nellie Berkenbaugh was in Westernport Monday and called on friends in Pekin on her return. A little daughter of William Harper of Harpersville, is suffering with an abscess, and Charles Miller and Mrs. Dye are ill with typhoid fever.
