Cumberland Evening Times 23 December 1908

My dear Santa-As Xmas is near and I am a very small little girl 
only four years old.  Please dear Santa, bring me a nice tree, 
a china head doll, a Teddy bear, a pair of ribbons, white and 
red, a pair of red golf gloves, and a pair of stockings, a broom, 
a slate and a pencil, nuts and candy and oranges.  Please do not 
forget my dear little sister, Elizabeth.  She is 3 years old.  
She wants a big doll, a broom, a pair of white mittens and a 
fancy cup and saucer, a pair of black stockings and nuts and 
oranges and please do not forget dear mamma and papa and Uncle 
Joseph for he don't want much.  He wants a pair of horses and a 
big shotgun and then he will make the rabbits roll in.

Note: Helen Agnes Hoye was the daughter of Peter Hoye and Catherine 
McGreevy.  She was born 24 Mar 1904 in Midland and died in June 1977 
in Lonaconing.  She married Stanley Edward Weimer.
