The Evening Times November 13, 1907
Manuel Poland, who resides on the mountain near Barton, was taken to the 
hospital at Keyser yesterday to be operated on for abscess on the liver.  He 
was accompanied from Westernport by his good friends, Messrs James O. Ross, 
Charles Sigler and James McDonald.  Mr. Poland up to two weeks ago was one of 
the strongest and heartiest farmers on Dan's mountain.
